Unsigned executable connecting to Lan devices when starting AoE4

Hi,
my IDS keeps reporting an unsigned executable named “reliccardinal_ws.exe” (\?\globalroot\device\harddiskvolumeXX\reliccardinal_ws.exe) trying to connect to devices in my local LAN when starting AoE4.

Has anybody noticed similar behavior?

Yes same here it also caused the game to crash according to event viewer

I just searched for this particular exe and I don’t have it. So that looks quite suspicious.

Hey @Canviz + All! The internal code name for Age of Empire IV is/was “Cardinal.” EXEs are not required by Windows to be signed, and I believe this is working as expected. Definitely no need to fear this file!
