Update 170934 kills new civs

Crazy nerfs in the update to the Campi - the core unit of the new civs - far too far.

There was a issue with dark age rushes, agreed, but this doesn’t address that so much as just nerf the new civs to oblivion. Not being able to scout the map in dark age at the same speed as other civs is crazy, there are so many maps this makes a massive difference on, not everything is about Arabia Red Phos rushes.

Spirit of the Law’s settlement requirement suggestion sounded like the way to go, not this all out crazy nerf - this direction is making all the civs more similar - the variety is the point, not just nerf them so it’s the same.

Generic things should not be locked behind other things period.But I do agree the nerfs are a bit too overwhelming.

In terms of gameplay, that’s a bad idea.

Genuinely interested in why you think that? I don’t see the issue - it’s just for Dark Age

  1. It would be an exception to how the whole game works.
  2. Furthermore, on some maps (perhaps more tournament-oriented ones), it might make sense to add two militias just to harass the opponent. So the Lithuanians or Persians might continue to do so, but the civilisations of South America do not, for some reason?
