I hope this “urgent” bug is not gonna get ignored and will be fixed in the next patch:)
Just to be clear, this is not a new bug but rather how all units with multiple projectiles had always been functioning until a couple of patches ago (which was now reverted to address the Rocket Cart exploit).
This functionality of holding on to its remaining projectiles and only reloading after finishing the volley is what made Hussite Wagons awkward to use when they fired in a sequence.
This is being tracked for improvements.
Pretty sure the target acquisition bug is entirely new. In all past past patches I believe that after killing a unit on aggressive units would fire their remaining clip at the next target. And since this is the main way you empty only a % of your clip, the other “reloading blanks” bug was seen much much less. Ty for tracking this.
Yes, this is a new bug.
As someone who likes to optimize handling of military units, this bug impacts both micro and macro management badly. Hopefully gets fixed soon!
nothing fixed on today’s update 147949?
Sorry, I’m not seeing the connection here. What does this bug have to do with the Rocket Cart exploit that allowed spamming ground attacks?
Wouldn’t it be possible to ensure:
a) A “magazine” has a defined size.
b) Each shot consumes one round from that magazine.
c) When retargeting during firing, either trigger a reload or allow the remaining volleys to be fired at the new target (up to you to decide).
d) When firing is interrupted (e.g., target is out of range, the unit moves, stops, or otherwise interrupts firing) while the magazine is not completely full, trigger a full reload cycle
e) The next shot is only allowed once fully reloaded (unless partial reload becomes a deliberate new mechanic).
I’m quite sure this would address both the indefinite shooting from the exploit and the current bug of units not fully reloading to a full magazine.
Castles are able to switch targets while firing (even if the target is not yet dead, but also if it dies during the volley). This can be more easily done, if the castle is fully garrisoned.
I believe this kind of behaviour would be a good fix if implemented.
So you are saying Chu Ko Nu’s DPS has always been robbed like that for the past 2 decades? How can you call it “functioning”, when a full reload doesn’t reset projectile numbers to full.
