I noticed that in the Age of Empires wiki, it lists that the US gets a unique Imperial Age skin for the Hussars, making it resemble a Union cavalryman during the Civil War and Indian Wars, wearing a kepi.
However, when I reach Imperial Age and upgrade the US Hussars to their Imperial Guard level, I keep the generic Industrial/Imperial Age skin. Is this a bug, or a real effect that should be happening? I think the unit looks pretty cool and is another thing that makes the US interesting, plus helps the roleplay in Civil War or Indian War scenarios.
A lot of the DE civs get unique Imperial skins. Most Imperial units look the same as Guard units.

I love this idea! so I moded the US cav.. but the hat is not on the rider’s head, is there any way to move the hat to fit the rider’s head?
If you mean that the model doesn’t fit the body, then you have to use 3D Max to adjust and export the new model. If you mean that you don’t know how to bind the hat to the unit, then it’s very simple.
The second option. I think it is the hat itself. You see… if i add aCav hat no problem, but the “chasseur_kepi” hat is for infantry and I guess it appears inside the rider model.
Can you help?
In the Age of Empires 3, any hat could be put on any cavalry. What is the specific manifestation of the problem you mentioned? I’m not sure which hat you’re using.
