Using Vortex while units are subject to an Implode causes them to get stuck

Issue:

Seen in a recent cast by IamBoit of a game between KeeN_Sevro and Miniyeti67, both playing Kronos. Sevro cast Implode, Yeti cast Vortex to get his units out of it. They then got stuck and were unable to move. Eventually after an attack on the stuck units by Sevro, some but not all of the units got unstuck.

If you manually delete the units, their corpses stay stuck on the map for the rest of the game.

Trigger Event:

Cast Vortex

Repro Steps:

  1. Play Kronos vs Kronos
  2. One player age up to Mythic Age with Atlas, one age up with Helios.
  3. Atlas player cast Implode into a mass of Helios units.
  4. Helios player cast Vortex to an area away from the implosion.
  5. Watch as the units get stuck.

Oh, even worse: allegedly (though I did not confirm this myself) the deleted units kept taking up population space permanently.

Hey, I just did an experiment after reading this post, and it certainly has a bug. I wrote a post on Reddit.

The good thing is, watching this video seems to confirm that the population space issue is not real.
