VAV DLC not playable on Xbox Game Pass (PC)

The DLC is still not playable on the Xbox Game Pass (PC). If you look at the AOE2 “News” in the app, the comments there are also full of comments about not being able to play.

Why should I even pre-order a DLC if I can’t play it anyway?

Incidentally, the repair function did not solve the problem either.

And still nothing works on Xbox Game Pass PC…
The support is also not helpful and only sends prefabricated messages with totally meaningless points

Enough people write in the comments in the app that nothing works. No reaction from the developers… That’s a joke…

Man V&V has been an unmitigated disaster.

  • Promised Campaigns, actually got standalone up-cycled scenarios.
  • Charged nearly as much for upcycled content as brand new content, opening themselves up for a myriad of cash-grab related criticisms, and the ethics of profiting off of other peoples work in the form of the mods the community has made.
  • While they were demoing the doc they were doing it on the pup so upcoming free features looked like they were paid features
  • Then we find out that V&V is less polished than advertised. People are running into the same bugs from the free versions, Romans in Vortigern are still Byzantines, etc.
  • Then we find out that some of the “new” scenarios are re-using maps.
  • Edit - I’ve been informed all the voice acting is done by the same person and also isn’t good.
  • Consequently it’s getting torched in the steam reviews.
  • And lastly, to top it off, some people can’t even play it cause it thinks you didn’t buy it.

Man remember all those “voice acting is expensive so increased price is fair” comments?

That voice actor must be a rich man now.

hahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa

Not that important, but I think it’s something that should also be mentioned: they also re-used art from other campaigns in the cutscenes. Which means they didn’t pay artists to make new slides, instead just taking ones that already existed and using them, even in the scenarios that are supposed to be new.
