Villager command attributed to the wrong target

  • Game Version: all

  • Build Number: v.100.18.56738.0 (581026R)

  • Platform: Steam

  • Operating System: Windows 11

Issue:

It’s been long enough to stop gaslighting myself. It’s not me, it’s the game.

it’s been months. 1 game every 20-30, i find a villager wandering around the map. It’s always a single villager; never a group (this is important because if it was a player imput, by this time it would have happened to a group of vills at least once imo). Usually in some path to the enemy base, almost always dying to enemy tc or army.

for the longest time i thought it was some kind of woodcutting bug - as in, the game fails to recalculate to the optimal tree and chooses a random tree on the map. Today, i looked closely at a replay and found out it was not the case, at least in this instance.

The vill is tasked to build a house and shift clicked to the adjacent gold mine:

For some odd reason, it never displays the flag of the shift-command on the gold mine, but instead it does show an attack flag to a random enemy house all across the map.

This happens in the span of 0,1 seconds - too fast for a human to do it, on purpose or not. That is roughly the time it takes for the mouse to go from the house to the gold mine, and shift click it.
Obviously, the vill ends up dying to the enemy soldiers and tc.

This is the replay:

The thing happens at roughly 10:51-52.

I have no clue if building a house and attacking a house is somehow connected, or if something else is going on, like the game thinking the house is clicked instead of the gold mine.
Regardless, to lose eco and eventually a whole vill to something like this is… not the best game experience in my opinion.

Trigger Event:

built a house, then shift clicked the vill to the gold mine next to it

Repro Steps:

I have honestly no clue.
