Villagers have way too much immunity

The fact that villagers are immune to so many God powers makes 0 sense to me. They’re immune to Bolt, Curse, Swamp, Frost, Spider Lair, Choas, and Communal Hearth (despite the fact Traitor works on all villagers). I mainly want Bolt to kill citizens, particulary hero citizens, especially one of Gia’s 2 hero citizens she starts with at the begining of a match. Atlantis needs more ways to punish their economy as its way too strong.

The reason those dont work on villagers is because it leads to some unhealthy interactions.

Going on team games as 3 zeus and bolting the first 3 villagers an atty player makes its an instant resign. Oh you wanted to play the game? Well tough luck, goodbye, maybe in your next one.

Same for bolting a china kuafu at the start of the game, its a massive hit. Same reason you cant bolt the starting berserk of the norse player in archaic age.

Even on the same civ. Imagine you pick hades, start your game and 15 sec later your 4 starting vills are 3, is that really something you wanna play versus?

Swampland is the same deal, i just go to your base, drop swampland. Now you either loose villagers or you cant mine gold for the whole duration. Same deal with spider lair, let me just cover all the gold mines in spiders, good luck getting resources after the one in your base runs out.

Chaos is a double edge sword, since the more units it affects the less the duration is. Also its only for military units. The same way flamming weapons doesnt boost villagers attack or bronce their armor.

Yet bolt works on starter Priests and Kitsune, as well as Kataskopos.

This is exactly why you can’t do that.

Bolt used to be the single most OP god power in the game. Especially against norse, where bolting the starting ulfsark was auto win for zeus unless a huge skill disparity was in play.

Neither of those build for you so it doesnt set you as behind, i would argue priest is the ones thats most value, then kitsune and katascopos last. Again, if you wanna nit pick you can do it, but its good to go deeper into why things are or arent one way or the other.

villagers are the very foundation of the game. Any power/ability that effects them will naturally have huge ripples into later parts of the game. Watch any esports match and see how hyped people get at 1-3 villager kills.

If we take your example of bolting an atlantean citizen, you would be taking out 25-50% of their economy (depending on how fast you get there). That’s less army units, a slower expansion, and delayed upgrades from a completely unavoidable GP. Zeus now wins against every atlantean every time.

Similarly, swamp and spider layer could take out quite a few villagers very early on and have huge ripples later in the game. Frost and hearth are less instantly game destroying, I could see an argument there, but the point still stands.

Who hurt you? I don’t understand the hostility when I’ve caused literally no drama whatsoever.

Most of these threads I make are to essentially to take notes and listen to what people have to say especially from Cajacu here. They replied to every thread I’ve made and thanks to their advice I have learned a lot and improved as a player because of that

Alright, nothing weird about this message. Nothing at all.

bolt was a very bad example but i think i understand what you mean and would agree with the general feedback. i personally think its wield that no armored simple farmers can tank multiple hits from myth units. military its surely worth a discussion, godpowers its dangerous terrain but myth units should eat villagers for breakfast. my personal opinion. (also if a villagers get hit by siege it should be quite lethal too lol)

It sounds logical after all myth units in legends did kinda occupy their time with eating helpless dudes.

But this game is already click to win as it is, i don’t think an extra way of instantly winning the game is needed.

They do, unless they are hero citizen, which you can think about them as retired heroes of old if you wanna give them a flavorful dynamic to go along with the in game logic.

Myth units are quite good vs villagers. Attty vills wise, units like Taotie can still one shot them with its ability, scoring a 2x1 deal of sorts.

Oh yea siege hitting units would be lethal, but also prob better thats not the case for games sake.
