Issue:
If a villager is tasked to hunt an animal, and that animal walks into unexplored (black) area, the villagers immediately go idle.
Expected behaviour is that the villagers should make their best effort to find the hunt. Navigate to where the animal was when it was last seen, and then hunt it. If they get to where it was last seen and it is not available, then go idle.
Trigger Event:
Hunt animal walking into unexplored area.
Repro Steps:
- Task villagers to hunt a huntable animal that is near the edge of explored area
- It walks into unexplored area while the villagers are still walking towards it
- Villagers go idle, instead of seeking to complete their task
As a side note: I believe the same may be true of military tasked to attack units that go into fog of war. Instead of proceeding to where they were last seen and then attacking if they’re in sight now, they tend to ignore your instruction and attack something else, or just go idle.
Yeah I find this unit behaviour quite frustrating. Units should keep travelling even if the target disappears. The same goes for when you order a unit to attack but the target dies before it gets there even if there are other enemy units to attack at the destination. That tends to work better with villagers tasked on animals because they will often automatically move to another of the same resource, but not always - sometimes villagers will go idle right next to more of the same resource.
