:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 The pathing of villagers has always been wonky, I made several posts about it, but it somehow got even worse than before, and is now reaching absurd levels of nonsense. Here are all the ENORMOUS bugs that I’ve encountered lately, that I had never encountered before :

  • Attacked a boar, clicked back near TC, no misclick, no obstacles on the way, nothing went wrong on my end, but the villager decided to go in the absolute opposite direction and went around the boar, getting hit several times and dying in the process, eventhough I kept clicking him back in the opposite direction.

  • Villagers get stuck in walls. For instance, they’re asked to mine a stone on the other side of the wall on arena, and instead of going through the gate, they just run straight into the wall, hug it, and stay there forever.

  • Villagers taking an L shape route instead of a straight line to reach the spot you clicked, without the presence of any obstacle in the way. This was already happening to some degree, but it used to only happen with at least a small obstacle, which it doesn’t anymore, and it has worsen tremendously. They do a literal L around nothing instead of walking straight there.

  • Again, one that used to happen but has tremendously worsen, villagers leaving the building foundation when asked to build. I experience them walking away 3-4 tiles before they turn around and build, but now I have seen villagers simply walking away, to the other end of the map. Or walking away and standing still a few tiles away from the foundation without any clicks in between, and again, no obstacle in the way that might have interfered with their behaviour.

  • Sheep gathering. They’re gathering a sheep, I move another one close to them before they’re finished so that they can switch on this one next, but they ignore the one I’ve sent them and go for far away ones.

  • They have gotten worse at walking around obstacles in general, too…

  • A precision of the bug mentioned above, they sometimes cannot engage naturally into 1-tile gaps between 2 buildings. Even by forcedly clicking them step by step, they hardly pass in between, and if they do so, they might just go back when they’re half-way through and make their way entirely around the obstacle in the opposite direction, as if some invisible force-wall bounced them back.*

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

 List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Order villagers to do anything
  2. Madness happens randomly

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

 What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
They are supposed to do exactly what they are asked to do.

I cannot attach anything that would prove my complaints because it happens randomly, and I cannot anticipate when I should be capturing my clicks. I can illustrate the one with the boar :

Oh god, thankful that someone listed out. The pathing has gone so bad that I don’t even remember when it began.

It was always there from the start of DE. Villagers bumping into each other, going AFK in the trees. But nowadays it’s so bad it almost feels like a prank.

Pathing clearly got worse with the last patch. And we thought it was not possible…
