Visual bug on "How to play"

Hi, I’m experiencing an issue with the “Learn to Play” tutorials in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (Steam version).

Whenever I launch any tutorial, the narrator’s voice plays normally, but the screen remains frozen. There’s no visual progress, and the game doesn’t respond to clicks during the tutorial.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Verified game files through Steam
  • Updated my dedicated GPU drivers (4GB VRAM)
  • Tested both DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 launch options
  • Disabled VSync and all mods
  • Reinstalled the game completely

The rest of the game runs perfectly and the issue only happens with the tutorials.

the game struggles when “Full Screen Optimizations” are enabled. Here is a link on how to disable them to make the videos play normally:
