Voluntarios De Patria and Train Times

Hi all, I am having trouble telling which cards and techs apply to train times and which don’t, especially with units that are trained automatically.

For example, it seems like there are cards and techs that do affect the train time of artillery from factories. But it seems like Voluntarios De Patria when revolting to Brazil do not get their train time reduced from the 146 seconds even if I play Fencing School, research Standing Army, or a Native tech like Akan Fontomfrom.

I am unclear if I can affect the time of units spawning from Forts as USA. I would appreciate some tips in knowing whether or not certain types of spawn times are going to be affected by cards and techs or not.

essentially autotrained units are treated separately from regular units and dont get affected by most cards. that’s why china’s train time cards are weird, as banner armies are handled similarly in the background. Most cards will not affect automatically trained units. its just not clear in the UI

Spawn unit only get affected by -spawn time tech, and unless it was stated specifically, then only the Immigration tech reduce it by 5%. Idk if the Brazil capitol receive the tech or not.

From what i know the train time cards are not supposed to affect Voluntarios de la Patria.

From what i know its more of “spawn/muster” than “train”

Not even Immigration in the older patch buffs its spawn/muster time. Its fixed at 146 seconds. Is what i know.

Unfortunately I do not know of any technology or card that accelerates the training of the Brazilian Voluntários da Pátria. :pensive:

Considering how weak the Brazilian revolution is, I would like the developers to give him a unique technology for his Capitol that would speed up the production of the Voluntários da Pátria. :pray:

Wait, didnt they remove the effect of the tech and become it automatic in imperial age??

they did made the faster training part to be automatic in Imperial, but some civ can get it in age4 (native and asians), and since Brazil is a revolution, they are considered to be still in age4 and do not receive the faster training part, so it all depend on whether or not they got that tech in the capitol.

Also according to wiki Immigrants and Imperial fast training bonus is not stackable

EDIT: just check in game, Brazil Capitol do not have the Immigrant tech

So iirc banner armies are tagged as units (which is why their train time are affected the age 3 accupunture cards) but they are neither tagged as cavalry or infantry which means they would not be affected by the euro style train time cards

Checking the files, the VoluntarioBatch doesnt have an infantry tag so they would not be affected by fencing school

I think a good rule of thumb is that if it says reduce train time of “Units” then it should affect batches units. If it says the class of units (cavalry, infantry etc) then it doesnt

Good stuff everyone, thanks for the info. Those Voluntarios sure are weak but it was fun to have 13 TC’s spawning them.

Then, they arent affected by native upgrades either, right?

No it shouldnt, the language i refer to is just Unit
