Walkable farms

I definitely think farms need to be walkable, and so do unstarted buildings. The fact that they weren’t at the time was a limitation of the tech that the devs were working with. It’s not a considered feature that should be considered important for recreating the old experience or for balance. It’s purely and simply a lacking in the old game. I really hope that it’s something they fix in this release, and don’t leave it borked purely for nostalgia’s sake.

I actually like the fact that the enemy can destroy your building foundations. That makes forward building more risky and forces you to secure an area before you can start building there. I think it’s unrealistic to start building something in the middle of a battle or right in the middle of enemy territory.

Being able to destroy foundations is fine. But you should also be able to walk over them without destroying them if you want. Either because its your own foundations or because you’d rather concentrate on getting to the enemy units first.

EDIT: For what it’s worth, I’m pretty sure this is the approach Age of Mythology takes.

It seems you never played AoE

I think walkable farms are better and in the farm regard I hope they’ll be endless like in Age of Mythology.

Since we’re on the subject of walkable farms… I vote that they include farms that have hidden quick sand traps.
