Watching games with fast-forward on sometimes just jumps to victory screen and ends playback prematurely (Bug for 2+ years)

When watching a game in fast forward to catch up to live, the game sometimes just freezes for a moment then terminates taking the spectator to the victory screen. This happens to everyone who spectates at some point and has been like this for years and is really disappointing.

:play_button: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

~25% of spectated matches, maybe more.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Spectate a game
  2. Fast forward it

Spectating shouldn’t end until the game ends it or the spectator leaves.

This might be caused by an out of sync issue that might be fixed by verifying integrity of game files on Steam or reinstalling the game. Could you try this? Thanks for the report.

Sure. This happens even on fresh re-installation.

Fresh reinstall, mods disabled, integrity of files checked.

Most people I’ve spoken to who watch games have all had this happen countless times, but I think a lot of people just don’t care enough to actually report it anymore since it’s been an issue for so long.
