Please understand: stop making these maps because they only benefit premade teams. Water and desert maps are a waste of time for everyone since players almost always dodge the match before it even starts.
The main reason is that premade teams are invincible on these maps. Stop creating them! Do you think we have all the time in the world to wait minutes in the lobby just for the game to be canceled immediately? No! Stop putting up obstacles and catering to a few (premade teams). We all want a fair chance to win and play on a level playing field. Furthermore, these maps are full of bugs regarding gold mine distribution and have very few huntable animals.
Well, at least now the DLC will have more jungle-like maps…
AoE 4 has that, you can choose the map and biome…

I clicked to this thread via the “New & Unread Topics” box at the bottom of forum thread screen. I wish it would only show threads in game discussions I partake in (like, never AoE1, AoE3, or AoM:R), or let me specify a preference

I get the crying about water maps since water play is not popular, but can you elaborate on the desert maps? Whats the diference between playing lets say giza or and equally open map like steppe?
Are devs really catering to them? Got any proof? Maps are quite diverse from each dlc and are far more designed with the civs biomes in mind than anything else really.
I would prefer to see the map pool expanded, it gets incredibly boring to play the same 10 maps every day.
I’d like to see Mediterranean, Watering Hole, Setonaikai, and Mount Olympus return. I’d also like to see Yellow River, Bamboo Grove, Land Nomand, Muspellheim, & Erebus be added to the roster as well
