I’ve seen many activities/contents since the game released. Like this werewolf mode, previous Map monsters, and Art of War, etc.
Things I listed had a chance to become such a great online PvE contents. Sadly their purpose are just simply serves for PvP and skirmishes, and making the whole game feels like imcomplete imo.
All of them prove that Relic have the ability to make PvE contents better. So why not?
i understand but people like us at 1000 or below aren’t heard in feedback, only the conqueror III rank seems to be, and not every change they suggest is a good one, just like not all of my takes are suitable, its selection bias
oh a lot can be done, but someone will have to encourage developement of more PVE stuff, like more campaigns and imo big miss the COOP mode with dedicated scenarios if feasible, but that’s up to management that sadly sees mostly esports less elsewhere

I would really like to see Campaigns added about the same way it looks in AoE 2 DE, also I miss more Art of War type quests. And the most important thing is to improve the enemy AI.

AoE 2 DE doesn’t stop it from being a competitive multiplayer game and having a huge amount of single player content . Remember how many Campaigns are in AoE 2 DE and the developers keep adding new ones. AoE 2 DE has tons of PvE content , and I also forgot about Coop Campaigns and Missions
Yeah Art of War just gave us 2 civs to learn, ottos and malian. it suppose to make us to learn civs but forgot some civs like Dehli and Chinese, they were way more complicated than English.
Game needs more PvE content, or specifically, more replayability.
Mod tools support would go a long way here - there’s a good amount of custom content available as-is, but the ways some modders have to integrate their advanced scenarios is clunky and not straightforward for end users.
I really want a weekly rotating crazy gamemode or something. Nothing that would be forced on normal gameplay, just stuff to make it interesting to play.
Something like: all units explode when they die, meteors fall from the sky randomly, farms wither and die after being gathered from (with increase to their standard foodcap), 1 super ai vs 3 players (or 1 super player vs 3 normal ais)
They need to get really weird with it. I hope the Full Moon gamemode is just a drop from an upcoming deluge of new content. I really like the idea of facing waves of gaia forces.
Bring us something like Arena of the Gods in AoE IV!!
The game and game engine are much more complicated than AoE II or III. Understandably - they’re much older games.
That said, the usability and workflow could 100% be improved. It’s just unlikely to ever be simple.
The good news is there are plenty of modders who are currently up for modding the game, who produce content for it. Who also update their mods between versions.
The main issues are how unstable the editor is (it crashes a lot), as well as problems publishing mods (especially with non-English locale).
