There are a few games that somehow have some story explanation of why you fight with/against Dinosaurs.
I just hate that they almost use the outdated Jurassic Park interpretation of it.

I don’t think that would make any sense as an RTS game.
There is this interesting thought experiment of a sentient species in the Mesozoic that had it’s own civilisation.
I forgot the name of it.
It was a thought experiment of if we could find traces of civilisation after >65 million years or if it’s impossible. Especially of pre industrial civilisation.
But I don’t think this setting would be good enough for an RTS. It would basically be fantasy without humans and without magic, with every faction being entirely made up.

Argus- here it is some ameboid blob. In actual mythology, he was a many eyed giant who preformed the heroic deed of killing Echidna. When he was killed, his eyes were transferred to Hera’s sacred bird, the Peacock.

Yes they changed Argus but I think they did it cause there were already enough giants in the game. + they gave many other units creative freedom too and didn’t stick to most things across the board or we wouldn’t even have some of the nostalgic units we now have.
Something similar already happened but (very unfortunately) failed. It seems some of you don’t even know the game ParaWorld. (?) I was so hyped as a young teenager when I saw this game coming out it was creative - maybe too creative for its own good and the campaign/story and graphics were not good enough as I remember correctly but I had some fun with it and found the ideas pretty cool it was just no serious project and a bit too goofy unfortunately (and I also really really like dinos but we shouldn’t forced dinos into AoMRe (even I don’t think you meant this I still wanted to point it out)
Considering that lost continents like Atlantis are already a thing in AoM, I personally don’t think a lost world with dinosaurs would conflict too much with the theme. They could be added in through a mod at least.
