Pretty much the title? I noticed the AI doesn’t, under any circumstances, research the upgrade so I haven’t been able to conclusively see what it looks like disguised. Does it give generic tree ID/ stats?
I’ve also noticed the AI treats it like its plainly visible. They attack the disguised trees on sight before it can ambush.
Um.. I’m pretty disappointed. I thought they were supposed to hide. Yes, they are harder to spot than a regular enemy unit, but if you know your opponent has chosen Hestia then you’d be on the look out for these guy waiting in ambush. I really wish they were complete undistinguishable from real trees. The attack icon or the full stats are dead give aways. I feel they should have programmed this a little more to increase/ provide true stealth.
I think the unit concept is not really much fun interaction with the ability to erase a whole army with a couple of them.
Currently with its issues of being an expensive set up, being able to have the cursor shift to indicate its an enemy when you mouse over the tree, taking their sweet time to transfrm, being movable when they are “transofrming” so you can frequently move them way
But a complete functional unit that can effectively hide and then decimate 20+ units doesnt seem fun interaction, to me at least. It becomes very black and white interaction. You either never got caught by them and your opponent just lost a lot of resources invested into something that didnt pay off or you wont because he wasent looking at all times at the units/villagers moving and lost them all.
Isn’t it a problem if you don’t have an attack icon? Basically they can stay as a tree as long as other player wants. Or you have to go near random trees and wait to get attacked.
Perhaps their ability should have it’s damage lowered and moved to be a normal ability that they cast on enemy groups.
Then hiding can just be something extra for flavor that doesn’t do damage.
You can trigger it with a hero or 1 unit. Traiding lets say a hoplite for that MU isnt a good trade for the dryad guy
You dont have to “test” a tree with 20 units thou. Can send the lone one.
Either way, currently if you Attack move any range unit they will kill the MU since they outrange it and it will never trigger its special. If you make a building like tower, tc or fortress it will also auto attack it.
Yea, im sure theres many ways to take it. Personally a stun, slow, or something that supports your army flee or engage. And adressing actually ebing useful before the upgrade comes in.
intersting idea but i would personally give her the ability to do aoe dmg as a “trap” unit makes her really unique i think the dmg should just be reduced, her base stats buffed instead and give her the aoe dmg ability with her upgrade during the tree disguise as baseline.
