What features do you think Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition should have to increase the number of people playing this game more?

AoE4 has absolutely brought more people in. There were far fewer players before it was announced.

Show me the data analysis on that.

There’s easily twice as many people playing DE compared to in legacy before AoE4 was announced. And the only reason we got a DE was to build hype for AoE4.

Se que es solo estético pero me gustaría estatuas o decoraciones para la metrópolis que se desbloqueen con un evento o por un logro. (Parecido a AoE4)
Ejemplo: crea 100 elmeti pontificios, desbloquea una columna con un elmeti arriba

It would still be an RTS although with a more RoN or Total War tone…

Yes, things as they are so that we are going to deceive ourselves…

In the only thing i agree is to guide someone but throurgh small pop up icons for the first 7 days of gaming make suggestions and instructions how to do some things(in a way of one-line guide). The other stuff about bringing herds arround tc is introduced in first AoW.

Some increase in the player base has been noticed…

There were also leaks, many players from aoe 3 went to play aoe4 (most came back).

Also some new players from 4 went on to play 3.

AoE 4 let me down, I find it bland and boring. But you have to admit that it is much easier to learn for new players.

And if we don’t get more players it’s because of Microsoft, which practically didn’t promote AoE3. In general it is the black sheep and the forgotten next to AoE1.

I think the new AoM will use the same engine as AoE3, and it’s also asymmetrical, which makes me even more hopeful that more players feel attracted to come.

And we will always remain, the faithful, maybe if I love AoM, I’ll stop playing aoe3, but I’m sure I’ll be back at some point. I played as a child. I stopped playing for years because I didn’t have a desktop PC. And for a few years I have returned. Is my fav game. Why not again?

I’d like a feature where Age I follows the same route as other Age of Empire games - combat in the first age!

It’s not the rest of the world dropped the wars and conflicts they were doing whilst a few Euro nations decided they’d go off exploring - that’s very Euro-centric!

Yes, I agree with everything…thanks to AoE 4 many players start to value AoE 3 more and play it more…and yes, I’m rubbing my hands with AoM Retold, it’s going to be a masterpiece if they put it in content and give it as much love as AoE 3 DE…

Yes, originally AoE 3 was going to have combat in the first age with crossbowmen and arquebusiers, but because they wanted players to explore and develop the economy more, they moved all combat to the second age…

A new game is needed for this and many other suggestions here. The good thing about this is that it would prolong the life of archaic units.

Or allow to create Cannoneers and Crossbowmen in the first age, but that the games last until fortresses age…

Definitely a world conquest mode.

Especially since the world map of Age of Empires 3 is almost finished, only the maps of South Africa and Oceania are missing currently.

And new campaigns. Historical battles are nice, but they are not as impactful as a real campaign.

If the whole thing could be co-op, that would be great.

Otherwise I find that it still lacks a little accessibility. There are a lot of things in the main menu (where AoE2 has 2 clear buttons ā€œsingleplayerā€ and ā€œmultiplayerā€) and it lacks small tutorials to get started with each gameplay (Europeans, Native Americans, Asians, American settlers and Africans).

If you want people to play it, get rid of the card deck system, if you want the niche role it plays keep it that way and campaigns, and reduce the performance requirements too. I love the game but the card deck system makes it not casual friendly, in that sense it will never have lots of numbers compared to aoe2 or even 4

Yes but aom retold its going to be much much easier than aoe3 with the homecity card system, the most difficult thing about aom is the gods, powers and thats it and its really interesting, but i hope aoe3 get more love from players its a really good game

sometimes people need to be told ā€œnoā€ in a firm voice. This is one of those times

Please, don’t start this again. I thought we had already moved on

This game needs co-op mode similar to Starcraft 2 not just co-op historical battles. It is really a good mode for everybody and has its own progression system which definitely helps in replayability.

The deck system is among the most casual thing I can find in an rts, maybe only behind world map campaigns.
Maybe they originally planned to make it competitive, then it’s great they were proved wrong,

Idk why the bar of ā€œcasual playersā€ have been raised so high in recent years. When people talk about casual I feel they are talking about ranked pvp grinders who are not the top 10% or sth.

Not to get rid of the card system but have an alternate game mode without it.
Bonuses will be delivered as AOE 2 and IV.

The question is how to attract more players, but sincerely I dont think adding complexity is going to do the trick, but hey i could be wrong.
