I think it’d be pretty funny if your units could instead ride the train and choose which stop to get off, imagine the enemy is waiting for a resource pass and 10 enemy musks pop out instead
Ironically, the code to make the trade routes provide units rather than resources is already there.

That would be an interesting crossover between trade route and native settlement.
But I guess it would be a map size balance issue.
The resources you get from a trade route scale linearly with length so you get exactly the same resources per minute on average from every trade route.
Units are harder to split up. Unless it would kinda “train” units over time so there could be half trained units at the trade route.
Would be kinda strange though.
Could be a cool feature for some random maps.
