What should Age of Empires IV improve?

Hi Dev Team, thanks for adding new features like connecting to team walls in the upcoming update, this news made my day!

Here are just some ideas and wishlist items:

Along with the upcoming update to resize landmarks and wonders, please consider resizing outposts, military buildings, and houses to be taller while maintaining the same tile size. I believe there have been other posts in the forum with visual suggestions regarding this.

More player colors (white probably wouldn’t work, so sub a different color there):

Please fix river splines so they connect to larger bodies of water on Mega Random Maps:

Not full building rotation since Age 4 uses a grid, but allow placement of buildings in one of 4 directions:

Currently, all buildings are forced to face one direction. AOE 2 is a 2D game, so it makes sense that every building faces one way, but AOE 4 is 3D, so some variety for building direction would be cool, instead of this:

Please animate the building’s animals:

Display Player Banner on military buildings like castles, outposts, wall towers, and possibly add new bannermen unit for each civ in the future:

For Casual Games:

Add game setting to increase Pop from 200 - 500

Huge and Ludikris Map Sizes

Seige on Walls:

Add option for Treaty Timer.

Diplomacy, with the option to start the game with everyone as Neutral for more interesting games of diplomacy where wars and alliances are formed naturally throughout the match:

Add upgrades at all markets to reduce the tribute tax to 0%

Future features for water and naval gameplay to make water maps fun and more strategically interesting:

  1. Please allow for building wood bridges across rivers. The bridges would be destructible, but could be built in different directions like walls through the spline system:


  2. Possibly give fertile land bonus, making building farms next to rivers more productive. This might give incentive for players to build more bases in the middle of the map around rivers while building wooden bridges across rivers to connect both sides of a base:

  3. Please consider making naval warfare more interesting in future expansions. Refer to Rise and Fall Civilizations at War. You can put units on the decks of ships, board and capture enemy ships, ram and destroy enemy ships, and build seige on ships. It would be amazing in future DLC for Norse and Venice to have naval warfare include new features. Perhaps each civ can get a new carrier type ship that units can stand on the decks of:

  4. For possible DLC which will include Venice, allow for Venice buildings to build on Land and Water… I think it would look amazing:

  5. Add random waterfalls to cliffs that spawn next to rivers or water:
