What should be the key features of the fourth Egypthian god? I’d suggest a god focused on mythic units, given the fact that none between Ra, Seth and Isis directly empowers them.
A couple of ideas:
Mercs are rarely used. A mercenary buff or even focus seems like an easy pick.
Most of the 4th gods are suited towards defensive play to contrast the original pantheons being more offensive. Egypt is already pretty defensive so they would probably flip the script and make the 4th god more offensive.
Hathor was replaced by sobek when retold came out. A lot of people would be hyped if she was brought back. This would also mean they could move the legacy portrait around so Sobek is no longer “Sobek (Hathor)”
I’m firmly in the “re-introduce Hathor as a major god” camp
I would like the 4th Major God to have a bonus to upgrade Towers once you reach Classical Age so that it makes it feel like playing old Egyptians.
Hathor be Heroic Age Goddess that focuses on improving your Mercenaries (don’t lose health over time and increased lifespan) and Pharaoh (improved empowerment) also making Egyptians feel more like from the old game.
Two good ideas here reintroducing old features : Hathor and free tower upgrade.
For Hathor she can span a free unit, the Apis bull. Like a pharaoh he span at town center and you can only have one of them. He cannot fight but give you a little trick of favor. He have a long but limited lifespan. When he died you receive a big amount of favor. Then he reincarnate at a town center.
He can inspire your buildings (maybe not your military buildings, only your civilian buildings and the temple)
If he is killed by an enemy you don’t receive the big amount of favor.
i think mercs are generally totally unnecessary and should either get removed completely or changed to some extra unit, like greeks for units (maybe each major god has one unique merc unit). but i would remove them completely personally.
i would be hyped too. i think sobek change was GREAT choice (portrait looks great too) but this Sobek (Hathor) was unnecessary, i hope they remove this when Hathor comes back as a new (major?) minor god with a more fitting myth unit (which already was posted somewhere egypt has the biggest issues with fitting myth units despite having such a big pool of them)
i think some interesting new key features of the new egypt god could be:
- less gold dependent and more wood or food dependent
- more aggressive play
- Obelics with some cool extra feature (looking at aztec towers)
- female pharaoh and priest (as posted by many already)
- monuments which maybe slow, or have traps around them etc
- a new military unit maybe?
Monuments have Lazers like the crocs, Kushite Archers replacement their chariot archers

I suggest reworking the mercenaries for all Egyptians. Make them no lifespan. Otherwise, it’s a waste of money.
We just need to increase the construction time to 4 seconds. And give the new god an upgrade to increase their limit and +10% HP.
The obelisk generates 0.005 favor and 0.01 gold, and its aura increases the speed of units within its radius by 5%.
The monument generates 1.0/2.0/3.0/4.0/5.0 gold in addition to favor and increase the maximum HP of buildings within their radius by 25%, obelisk +100%.
The temple generates 0.01 favor and grants the area 45% of the Pharaoh’s empower.
Each destroyed obelisk spawns a serpent.
The Lighthouse provides +0.1 favor, +1.0 gold generation, and +5% units speed within range. It also provides +10% ship speed within range for all Egyptians.
Pharaoh rides a chariot, cannot empower, but can build obelisks, has higher movement speed, damage, HP, and healing speed.
Pharaoh aura +10% damage to units and buildings.
scarabs that eat flesh, it dismember human soldiers as quickly as they run. A different sound is heard when they are dismembered
the fortress are piramids and have traps of killing 1 unit if get closed to a set trap, very unlikely to be good unless all the fortress is surrounded.
New titan skin for this god, a huge mummy with the red eyes and all rags moving all over the smash place. The titan leaves a trial of toxic green dark smelly trail.
an antiroc, a bird that is the evil form of a roc, it grabs 5 enemy units and toss them far away without dealing damage, it can grab the other roc and kill it instanlly, also can destroy catapults instantly. Also has an ability to toss the catapult to a building dealing damage to it.
Traps of shifting sands, the units speed slow 90% in 1 square meter.
Priests are differentent, a black tunic and can invoke serpents by throwing their crosiers.
A cheat that bring the rock king scorpion.
Diferent statues from the other egyptians, statues that makes enemies afraid. It reduces attack of the enemies. And dont give favor, they give respawn of myth units, cursed zones, the floor turns black.
