Make it a Regional unit for Central and Western Euro civs instead of UU.

A DLC adding new African civs, especially southern African ones like the Shona of Great Zimbabwe or the Swahili. Also, I dunno how likely it is, but a Chronicles DLC adding Egyptians and Kushites would be dope too.

What about multiplayer servers? Don’t they really expensive to maintain?

depends on how they are set up. If they are only a matchmaking server then it’s fairly cheap.

We don’t truly know how the aoe2 servers work, but I think it’s still basically p2p (with extra steps). Otherwise desyncs shouldn’t be an issue

Give the indian civis its own sails king trade cart merchant UI graphics.Remove the sinhaleese kings name from the dravidian leader list.

Honestly, the fact that they felt like they needed to include Sinhalese kings when the Dravidians already cover over a thousant yearsbof some of the most powerful monarchs in the world is crazy. It would be like inclusing a Korean King under China

The Dravidians as an umbrella are almost as egregious as the old Indians, and I hope they get split up someday.

Dravidians as an umbrella to be split is a sound idea from a historical perspective. There could at least be 4 new civs sinhala, Tamil, telugu, Kannada and kalingas. Tamils could be the renamed Dravidians. But looking at their tech tree. It would be a complete disaster without knights or cav archers. Those civs would need at least one unit for better mobility and civ specific overpowered economic or defensive bonuses similar to suggestion like this

3d is not feasible with AoE2, mainly because it will cause massive performance issues live rendering those beautiful destruction animations in 3d in our potato PCs.

True. I wish they gave us an option equivalent to AoE1 DE at least. It had 32 directions and 4x zoom level quality while AoE2 has 16 direction and 2x zoom level quality.

Fix Team Game:

  1. Allow new que settings where maps are groups. Open maps, closed maps, Nomad maps, Water maps
  2. Allow players to chose min one type of map (eg. nomad maps) or as many. More pools selected = faster matching. No bans needed, prevents map dodging.
  3. Show opposing team players and if they are locking civs or not
  4. Allow chat with team mates when in que.
  5. Allow voice chat for windows players like pretty much all games that exist, promoting communication in TG
  6. Better chat filter, right now the word Knts in censored lol

Ofc fix the bugs but i feel TG is in its worse state. People quit min 5 if they dont like their map or just play like shit. People who que with randoms get destroyed by pre-made teams that civ lock full strats which pretty much is the general state. Quing with randoms is usually bad if you are under 17xx elo TG.

Back on Voobly and HD you could pick your map and host your lobby. People joined slowly or fast was okay and you knew the players. Civ picking was considered rude unless tourny setting.

Oh, absolutely. My computer can barely handle the game NOW. It’s the only one of the franchise I have installed, as AoE3 and Age of Mythology (the other two I’m interested in) are far too resource-intensive for my laptop.

Yeah. It is just a wish. I know a third remake will not be profitable at all with such a small player base.

In my opinion, we can save the southern Indian cavalry.

They didn’t have horses; they needed to trade to acquire horses… but they were surrounded by elephants.

They used elephants for both war and labor and construction.

What needs to be created is a new regional unit.
And this regional unit should be the Scout Elephant/Light Elephant.

Example: Today we have three scouts… the Scout Cavalry, the Camel Scout, and the Eagle Warrior.
Example:

  • The rider and the camel have the same field of vision, and their movement speed is practically the same.
    Therefore…
  • The eagle warrior and the scout/light elephant should have the same field of vision and their movement speed should be practically the same.

Regarding damage and initial health?

  • Scout Cavalry: 45 hp, 5 damage, 2 piercing armor
    Camel Scout: 70 hp, 5 damage, no armor
    Eagle Warrior: 50 hp, 4 damage, 2 piercing armor*
    Scout Elephant: 100 hp, 7 damage, no armor / or 90 hp, 6 damage, no armor

It should be noted that the light elephant would have a nearly unarmored appearance and would be a less robust elephant. This does not mean it is a juvenile or a calf. Because the light horse and eagle warrior are not juveniles or calves/children (light units should be weaker and less robust).

It’s funny seeing people ask for improved graphics – meanwhile I would really like a classic graphics mode, or at least the ability to mod the classic graphics back in. (Right now this isn’t possible for a number of reasons, mostly due to DE having different numbers of frames and directions.)

The problem is that new content, created only after AoE2DE, was never designed for the classic graphics. So, it gets complicated.

The only way is to play AoE2HD, or if they ever release reworked, sharper graphics, as seen in AoE1DE, wait for them to release all the content in classic graphics at the same time… then, you can switch between the classic and the new graphics. (But I think it’s very difficult, because it would be two jobs: creating classic graphics and new graphics, for everything).

I really like the way this is done in Diablo II since you can switch between remastered and original graphics on the fly (and I often do while playing it). I don’t think it would be realistic for something like that to be implemented in AoE2 though.

Sure, that’s part of the reason I’d be happy with it just being possible to mod the original graphics back in. I don’t know where the game encodes numbers of frames or directions so I don’t really know how this would work in practice, though. (Also, I imagine it would be fairly trivial for the Devs to make classic-style versions of all the new graphics.)

To be honest, HD never quite recreated the original graphics properly, e.g. they messed up the shadows, farms, fire, cliffs, water, etc. I never was much of a fan of HD…

Trade cart skin with a two humped camel for some civilization (Cumans, Khitan, Jurchen, Mongol, Tatars). Because two humped camels were used in this part of the world. For the Jurchen although they have no camel military unit they use camels for trade in north China during the Qing dynasty (see photo here).
This will distinguish them more than the other chinse civilizations

One Chronicles DLC featuring the romans and carthaginians and egyptians

One medieval DLC : no experimental this one : traditional DLC with medieval civilizations in medieval time.
Possibly Andean DLC because this part of the world have the less assets in AoE2. With mapuche and another andean civilization.
Barbarian invasion DLC : with the vandals, suebi, alans. With campaign for the vandals, suebi, roman and franks (Clovis) with many regional unit (see the post migration period DLC)

Good french translation

Correct the too many bad translation, we have reported to us many of them.

Correct alphabetical order in language other than english

In the civilization selection panel some civilization are misplaced in some language because they utilise some accent.

When there is accent on some letter in some language you put this civilization in the last part of the civilization. In french for example the Ethiopian are in the last because they use the letter Ʃ. The correct order in franchise is between the spanish (Espagnols ) and the franks (Francs ). There is some problems in other languages. For example in german the Ethiopian who start with the letter Ƥ. In Turkish is worst because there use the letter Ƨ İ so the following civilization are in the last part : Chinese, Incas, Italians, Spanish. In vietnamese version they use the letter Đ and the following civilizations are in the last part : byzantine and vietnamese

On the other side you make a good alphabetical order in the drop down menu of the technological tree. Just take the alphabetical order of the drop down menu of the technological tree and put him in civilization selection panel.
