Yes, they’re just ideas… I’d leave the expansion maps more for team or cooperative play, like 2v2 to 4v4, like the last missions in those expansions (War of the Titans, Duel of the Deathless, Unending Night, and The Final Stand)…
Unending Night: This is a 2v2: You have 2 major players with an established base and 2 minor players: one with a large army but no base, and the other with 5 bases but no army (when the second player loses a base, the other player takes it). Both depend on their respective major allies for reinforcements…
The Final Stand:This is a 4v4 game: The players fight for the city of Tenochtitlan…the team that takes it first by capturing the main temple and manages to defend it for 15 minutes wins…
This ones and others from the aztec maps sound very interesting, either 1 playr with a big base holding 4 with smaller bases or 4 allies in a centered base vs 4 oppoennts in spread out bases.
Yea, just pointing out they would need some heavy modifications to make it possible for both parties. Like the wonder you can make it so is controlled by some idle AI ally, so you dont get benefit from it.
Yes…in Age of Empires 3 you have the Battle of Vienna where you have to defend it from the Ottoman players until Polish reinforcements arrive, it would be similar here…
I think expanding on the special missions and adding a forth major god to all the existing civs would really complete and round out this game but either way whatever happens with it I will enjoy for a long time to come
i often think of a Scythian pantheon. But i’m afraid they might be too dark. Because of some of their practices. Still i’d love to see their cavalry with immense veterancy and upgrade options from gathering gold from enemy units. No armory. To hang more armor onto your unit or your horse and add more details to them like the stags. And turn them into a full on cataphract. I mean to say that the upgrade options are in the unit. That would ask a lot of micro though. I just wish i could mod.
0 AD…is from the creators of the Rome at War mod for AoE 2, who created their own studio and their own engine, Pyrogenesis, based on Unity in the 2010s…it’s like an AoE set in Antiquity and a more realistic alternative to AoE Online (would they be like distant cousins?)…AoE Online is more MMO-like and cartoonish like WoW, and 0 AD is a more standard and realistic game (a future AoE 5 could be like this, but with Unreal Engine 5 and troops on the walls like AoE 4)…
