Does anyone know when the next dlc is coming out?

Nothing official yet. They’ve mentioned plans for season 9, but that seemed more focused on balancing late game. In the ‘What’s on the Horizon’ section they keep on hinting at something big in Spring 2025.

Either way, we likely won’t hear anything for a bit. I’m not expecting an announcment until at least October 25 during the anniversary. If the DLC launches in spring, March 20 - June 20, then I don’t think we’ll hear an announcement until at least December. In the past they’ve released a trailer 60 days prior to release, and done small info drops as early as 90 days prior.

They usually releases big updates in October. But I suspect they may have delayed the DLC because they want players to play Age of Mythology retold and didnt want the attention to compete. So spring 2025 would make a lot of sense.

Well, I thought it would be in November like last year, but Microsoft will release 2 games this year and other events including:

  1. Age of Mithology: Retold (September 4th)
  2. AoE: Mobile (October 17th)
  3. Red Bull The Reign (October 3-6)
  4. Aoe3 DLC: Lithuania and Denmark (Unknown, supposedly this year)

I want to assume that the company does not want there to be competition between releases (something similar to how the distributors choose the release dates in movie theaters), and therefore even if they have already worked on the DLC, they will not release it until “Spring 2025” in the Northern Hemisphere (March 2025). I suppose the promotion will be in one of these months that remain in the year.

I think that by March 2025 we should already have DLC, coinciding with Season 10. I mean, if we recount the last thing that happened between seasons with new civs:

  • The Anniversary Edition came out in Season 3, in fact, it was the main novelty of Season 3.
  • Sultan Ascend came out at the same time as Season 6, in fact it WAS Season 6.
  • DLC usually comes out at the same time that a season starts so that there are no problems with the Ranked, and well, Season 10 should start in March 2025

About its official announcement, is theoreticall but, well: Do you remember the Hype of the fans for Sultan Ascend? It lasted 4 months and they announced it in August 2024. I suppose that if it is in March 2025 they will announce it in December or November 2024, although as MedicMaan said, there is an event on October 25, which is the annual anniversary of the franchise, hopefully they will announce something there.

And well, it’s not like developers can stop DLC for that long: If they make fans wait too long, they won’t have any extra profits.

In the meantime, it would be good to try to release more civ concepts out as soon as possible to give the ideas of Unique Units of New civilizations that the fans would like to enter in the game when they are released, or for the civs that already exist in the game. The Ottomans are still waiting for horse archers hehe, and with the sneak-peak they released that they would have more vizier point technologies, anything is possible.

Hopefully the long wait will be worth it and the next DLC will come with even more content than Sultan Ascend.

Watching the Age of Mythology videos, I was only sure of one thing: I want to continue playing Age 4. I hope Age 4 continues to grow and become the success it deserves.

Sultan’s honestly had a bonkers amount of content, especially for what it cost (even if folks want to exclude Variants entirely - the new civs, additional maps and the new campaign are all worth what was a $20 addition on release).

I would be wary of trying to escalate that. So long as it’s good value for the price point, I’ll be happy with any future expansion.

I would like to ask you this:

Do you real think developers will improve model textures for units and weapons?
I mean, looking at AOMRE developers listened criticismo to portaits and characters voices very serious and changes them before the official release.
We know that graphic have been a very critized aspect so i think it’s time to improve It. They made a good job with Season V but there are many other graphic aspects that never improved.
And what changes or adds do you think will be included?

Well tough luck cause I’m not buying DLC for any other Age game.

I have no idea.

Genuinely. I wasn’t expecting the terrain improvements in Season 5, or the water overhaul with the Sultan’s Ascend.

But at the same time, they’ve already laid out a vague roadmap for S9, and we don’t know what art resource the devs currently have (post-Relic layoffs and subsequent independence, bearing in mind all the MS studios working on Retold).

Do I think we’ll see any more graphical improvements at all? I hope so. But I’m not sure we’ll see any before S10.
