When will we likely get another DLC according to you?

I would like a recorded game engine DLC. I would pay €5 for it.

It would include:

  • capability to play any recorded game, no matter if it’s from 2019, 2020, or 2021 - it is unaffected by game updates as its sole purpose is to replay past games, not play new ones.
  • capability to rewind.
  • maybe integrated with CaptureAge(?) or made in cooperation with CaptureAge
  • integrated recorded game search to access recs from ranked matches

And why do you think that the game need more DLCs if may i ask?! Until now we have problems with many civa balances and bugs and crashes, and the 2 newest civs (Burgundians and Sicilians) are the worst in the ladder currently and people didn’t fine the best meta to play with them. If the game will become boring then it will be because of the big stuff and many contents that it has, we have now 37 civs and as more as the number increasing as more as it harder to learn and harder to master and harder to balance. Well in general if we have now 37, then i can just say 40 is max number that we can accept it for game balance and i am still saying we don’t need more at all.

There will be 48 civs total in the near future.

i sincerely hope so  and hopefully no lame 1 time unique techs :expressionless: burgundians and sicilians need an overhaul

The new unit techs are so stupid and idiotic - Why can’t we have techs like Archer-line +1 attack or Champions +30 hitpoints?

My friend the problem is that if we will still get many civs this is not good for the game at all especially balances and multiplayer, and the devs recently start to add new mechanics and weird stuff that is not something familiar with aoe2.

I have played DE since the launch and I don’t understand @BouffantBloom32 criticism. The Definitive Edition gave more lymph to a 1998 game and made it modern and stable. In the HD version I experienced a lot of bugs and crash due to the fact that the structure was still that of 1998, all problems solved with DE; not to mention that I had problems playing with HD because it used to hurt my eyes.
I desire DLC because they expand a game that I love. Personally, I’d like regional skins for units more than new civilization to make the game beyond european civs more immersive

When will we likely get the game fixed according to you??? IM STILL UNABLE TO PLAY THE GAME SINCE LOTW release…

honestly if the game isn’t playable for you, this sounds like a pc problem on your end.

Have you tried the Public Update Preview build? Crashes should be fixed with this build and if not, please provide them with crash dumps so they can fix the problem.

To be fair, I am a fan of DE. I don’t like somethings like heavy graphics being forced on each player. For low-end hardware, thr HD graphics could have worked.

Actually tests done by some YouTubers reveals that pathing is better in DE compared to HD or Voobly. The only thing I am concerned about is the long distance a villager retreats in DE when ordered to build something just under it.

Now, as some of you have said that DLCs are needed to support the game and that more civs can actually be negative for the game. What about DLCs which only consist of single player campaigns?

Everyone plays the campaigns at some point, be it Viper or a newcomer. More than 50% of the people play Single Player. So I can see the game getting support here too.

Earth to @MatCauthon3. There are lots of people with the same issue. Is not our PC, its our game that is lame, and this has been the case since the release.

@xWHIT3W0LFx no luck with the PUP neither, although performance seems better.

so tell me how i was playing just the other day just fine but your game isn’t working.

whats the difference between my game and your game?

Did you post a bug report in the pup forum? The developers are very responsive and will help you solve the problem. I would report crashes if I had any but my game runs just fine so please take the time and report them.

That’s something almost everyone criticized about burgs and sicilians civs.
Yeah, I would really love to get more civs. But if that is gonna be the design philosophy for new civs to come then I’d rather stay with the current 37.

No, 40 civs at most, 48 civs is way too many

It is not too many, more civs=better game, also the devs aren’t dumb enough to stop making DLCs after 2 successful one - especially after the stupid Burgundians/Sicilians choice.

Yeah, more civs=better game, but there is a limit. Too much of a good thing is real. It would hamper high level games, which microsoft does not want to scare away potential esporters

for new players, even 35 are too many. For consistent players, not even 40 might be enough:) It is fine to explore new things, learn new meta/strategies and check out new units/technologies.

No one wants to do the grind to get to high level gaming when you have 40+ civs to remember how to play them, on what maps, against what opponents, ect, ect.
