Voted for 4 nations but especially want Byzantines. I even see concept: early knights (cataphracts), strong castles and walls with autorepair like HRE (feodosiev walls), bonus for fleet (greek fire) and strong trade (the silk road between Asia and Europe).
This game needs CONTENT ASAP!!! We are losing players and interest fast… because it launched bare bones and the patches are trickle effect… Release Spain or Norse quick, then maybe the Native Americans or something… IDK
Better be free or I’m just gonna leave bc they’re focusing on monetizing dlcs while the base game broke as hell
I want to see a Crusader States/Knights of Saint John civ.
Ottomans, Byzantines, Japanese, Vikings!
Mapuche (South American)
Give me an example, or your argument has no weight.
Ok so we need definately Spain. It was THE power in the XVI centry, plenty of cool historical units to choose from, massive material for landmarks. Byzantines, Turks, Japan are obvious choices too. Mezoamerican civ will be hard to implement because of its technological inferiority, i guess strong feudal, mediocre castle and weak imperial will do.
I’d like to see them in AoE2 too
I would make two campaigns in a first dlc:
a Byzantine campaign: The Great Byzantine Empire (526-1261) and a Turk campaign: The Rise of the Ottoman Empire (1071-1526)…
In the second dlc:
an Aztec campaign: An Empire among the jungles (1325-1521) and a Spanish campaign: For the force of the Faith (1097-1571)
In the third dlc:
A Japanese campaign:The Great Shogunates (1183-1600) and a Korean campaign: The Joseon Dynasty (1392-1598)
In the Norman campaign the Danes appear and Relic said that a civ of south India was in development…maybe it’s the Tamils or the Chola…
Or maybe Rashtrakuta dynasty?
Mapuche will be an exception, for they adopted many newer technologies and tactics from Spanish oppressors, not only braced themselves into larger fortified settlements instead of scattering in parishes with a few families…
I like it although I would change the name of comanche to anasazis…
The early Pueblo never saw horses. Giving them horses would be weird. If anything, they’d be a defensive civ that employs an extensive number of infantry units.
Also, including the Comanche would be weird as ■■■■, the Comanche have only existed for about 250 years, if that. If you want a plains Native American civ, the Seven Fires would be the best choice - that’d be the Lakota, Dakhota, and Dakota, which have existed as their own distinct nation since at least the early 1500’s, and likely much earlier than that.
I have a concept drawn up for the Seven Fires, if you’re interested.
Considering that Ivan the Terrible appears as a Russian leader in aoe 3,I don’t see much problem with him being put in aoe 4…
Yes,the Japanese and Turks of aoe 4 would have to be like their counterparts of aoe 3 with melee cavalry (naginata and sipahi) and gunpowder units (ashigarus and janissaries) in their imperial age…
I think the Mapuche could also fit as a playable civ in AoE3, but AoE3 has way too few South American minor civs so it’d have to fix that first.
If I had to pick one civilization from the list, it would easily be the Byzantines.
