Anyone else miss the white roofs that the Roman-style buildings in the OG Age of Empires had? It seems that the DE versions (as seen in both AoE1: DE and RoR) have switched to pink roofs like the Greek buildings. In all honesty, I think the white roofs help distinguish the Roman-style architecture from the Greek style and would like to see them return. Anyone else feel that way?
Did anyone use white roof tiles in history?
I dunno, I just think it looks cool and distinctive.
I dont know, I never played RioR, only OG, DE and ReoR. OG didnt have the Romans, so I got used to the red roofs with DE and can distinguish them from Greek roofs very well.
I woudnt really mind white roofs, I guess…
Wow I had forgotten they were white…Yeah I think white looks much more distinct from the Greek.
The white roofs look so wrong.
Romans used red/orange roofs like basically everyone else. Which the Mediterranean architecture from AoE2 does too.
In AoE1DE and RoR the Romans have deeper red roods then the Greeks.
Being able to differentiate architecture sets is not that important, it’s more important to be able to quickly see what type of building it is.
I don’t think they used white roofes, so I’m ok with them being gone.
In fact often the pillars and whole buildings were painted, but due to time they only now are white on the buildings still remaining from that time.
