Most certainly an inside joke of unknown origin. Could be from a misspelling of “Market”. There’s also a Dungeons & Dragons character called Martek.

‘Lord Market’ doesn’t make any sense, let alone a (sure)name like that in the times of Carthage.

Either some insider thing, or just made up on a whim.
It’s close to ‘Marek’ which is Slavic version of Mark. But in that case, it’s too different to be just a typo. And certainly Latin version makes even less sense ( Marcus )
