Why don't ottomans have horse archers

As with every trailer, for flavour.

Do you mean to say that they #### # ##### new mechanic just to show in 2-second shot that isn’t even necessary?

Well, since Ottomans don’t have horse archers and won’t be getting them, obviously yes?
(Eventhough I am not 100% sure what you’ve typed there)

Maybe that trailer has been made way earlier when some things were still in a design phase, the horse archer could very well have been cut from the game.
The bow ability might have been switched for the attack buff for balance purposes

+1 The Ottomans should have the horse archer unit.

Black riders are very late in the game’s time span and are not as iconic for medieval HRE.
A better comparison would be French without knights or English without longbowmen.

Doesn’t matter, what about the Ritterbruder then?
There are quite a lot of examples for why they can cut a unit without besmirching the civs history.

Does matter. Ritterbruden overlaps with knight. You should say HRE without knights or any heavy cavalry.
Especially when considering “historical documentary style”, a typical Anatolian/Middle Eastern nation without any form of ranged cavalry is a bad representation.

I hope it’s not too late, cause horse archers are one of my favourite units. Making them exclusive to rus limits the possibilities of future civs severely

They could rename the Rus one into Cuman Archer or something like that and let it still be unique but then add a generic one for others.

They’d still be cool units and they perfectly work next to Landsknecht and Culverin.

Definitely. Maybe they are saving the “gunpowder cavalry” stereotype to Spanish conquistadors.

If they really want to make AoE2 2 instead of making their own game.
Spain/Castile needs a Jinete, a horseman using Javelin.

LMAO, I just noticed that these Elite Sipahis’s horses wear this cute lion hoodies

Oh and by the way, these are not Sipahis either they’re the Deli Light Shock Cavalry and it’s safe to say they didn’t wield bows:

The Knight line from the game are the actual Kapikulu Sipahis (Palace Guards basically), they wield wide array of weaponry from maces, lances, swords to composite bows:

I know maybe it’s too late for them to change so much from the game, but they could at least change the name from Sipahis to Deli Cavalry perhaps?

i dont think this should be nesesary tho… but meh changing names its easy

but admitting that they’re wrong is harder though, so i don’t think they will change it that easily but we’ll see i suppose…

Sipahis are heavy cavalry in Age of 3. In Age of 4, the Ottomans have knights as heavy cavalry. But there is no unit called knights in Turkish military culture. It would be nice to call the Knights as Sipahi and the Sipahis as Deliler,

Yeah, the devs should definitely change the name so people at least know that this isn’t the Sipahis. So they should add Horse Archer instead of making Deli Cavalry fire bows which is not actually accurate.

I think Delhi Sultanate also need the horse archers.

Remember that this is a preview version, it is totally possible that they could get them in the final version.

False advertising like they did with x019 trailer that showed better graphics and better bulging size… A practice that old relic never did…

another funny thing:

Mongols also don’t have Horse Archers!

And before you say Mangudai.
Mangudai were the Vanguards of the Mongol armies.
Regular Horse Archers are still missing for Mongols.
