It is no secret that AOM:EE still has many known bugs and performance issues. In my opinion, the performance issues prevented this game from becoming the default version. There are still too many people who play Voobly.

Will there be a patch 2.9, or do you think the game is stuck on 2.8 forever?

Well atm there is nothing according to SteamDB, I doubt it will change from that anytime in the future.
