Will this game have cross save/progression between Game Pass and Steam?

I suppose cross play is a given?

But will this game have cross progression? As in, will my campaign progress in Game Pass go into Steam if I buy the game there later? Also my multiplayer stats, rank and so on?

I don’t think so as it uses different accounts to save your stats. When you have it on steam it uses your steam account and when you are on MS Store/Gamepass it uses you MS account.

I say just buy on steam if you can, MS store is a mess with bad UX. Steam is simple and straightforward, majority play there. If you wan to discuss you can post on steam forums and ask questions, there are also loads of guides.

Otherwise best option is if MS can give this game as a standalone, buy directly and play through AOE launcher, no dependency on anything else like int he old days.
