Can I run AoE III D.E. without steam link or steam protocols???

as in independent of steam entirely?
that would require cracking, which takes the multiplayer part out, as well as future updates
unless you really want the MS store version of the game

Steam shouldn’t belong to Xbox nor Microsoft Studios. I hope that AoE team should remove any other protocols except the microsoft account.
