Wooden walls can be built so quickly that one can simply create a lot of junk wooden walls on a map, which would be too expensive to clean, and which would otherwise provide a view. And the health of the wooden walls is too low to defend against enemy attack.

Palisades are more anti raiding than anything. they are great at buying time or limiting the enemies mobility. I think they are great as they are
