Work on AOMR involves updating the AOE3 engine. So could we get similar death animation?

There have been debates on whether AOMR and AOE2DE should have more drastic death animations (decay animations and skeletons beyond blood and “sinking into the ground”) like in the original.

Now remember AOE3 does not have any since release. The corpse just quickly fade away.

As AOE3 and AOM are not sprite-based (like AOE2), so you don’t need to save one animation for each unit. So if basic blood and decay effects are in AOMR, is it possible to transfer them to AOE3DE too?

If rating is a concern I can do with what AOMR has shown, because that’s still better than nothing.

I would like to have corpse decay, and maybe a taste of blood and gore in the game!
The concern came straight with the thing that AOE 2 DE has it. Even AOE IV lacks those as well!

I never liked blood and corpses, I feel like it is just morbid for mobid’s sake. If it had some mechanical implications, like Hel or Hades or whichever Civ is added in the future gaining the capacity to revive the dead, then sure, that’s something I’d like to see.

But otherwise it just adds visual clutter for no real gain.

yeah tbh I don’t really want to be reminded too much while playing that I’m sending hundreds of people to their deaths…
There’s a voice line by the Italian AI personality when you’re losing where he talk about hearing the lamentations of the poor wounded who are being transported to the hospital, and like I always sort of imaginined after a battle in-game your troops weren’t all actually killed but the game abstracts as killed soldiers who are wounded so much they had to be evacuated

Make it a togglable graphics option then
