I have never experienced something like this 25 years i m playing our favourite game. I wonder did they lost their minds???

it’s a complete rip-off. I think this calls for a boycott

I’m 100% down for boycott. First they lie to us, then sell us recycled content for $13???

I’d have shut up and forked over the $13 hadn’t they lied to us, cause they need money to keep devs busy and servers running, but forget it. People who lie to me don’t get my money. They’ve demonstrated their unworthiness.

I think people are overestimating server costs. If they built a stable game they wouldn’t need to pay many devs either. There are so many games that are still running despite a lack of constant spending from users (eg Guild Wars (last release in 2007), OG starcraft, and many more)

5 € sure, why not, nice addition to the game.

7/8 €, if you also add a fix for what you broke more than four months ago and you haven’t fixed yet, I guess ok, anything for the game we love.

13 € it’s a joke.

And I love single player content: I have been waiting for campaign DLCs for a long time. In fact, I have already played most of the “new” content.

Instant remove from wishlist. Fix the game!

This was so low I didn’t expect, glad I set up a patreon for my own mods…

this would be a free update in something like DRG
this would be a free update to advertise a major DLC in Total war: Warhammer
this would be a free update as compensation for the constant drops, broken pathing, server outages, miscommunication by any company with an ounce of decency.

I think 5 is the absolute maximum that I’d be willing to pay. Anything more is a pisstake. (5eur would probably be fine if it went straight to the mod creator/voice actors)

I’d happily pay 15 eur for 5 new full campaigns, I’d be elated. 5 eur for 5 non-connected scenarios is already steep

Something to keep in mind here is that the person who did those custom campaigns is the same who restores them now for this campaign pack.

He’s Ramsey Abdulrahim, aka Filthydelphia:

https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Age_of_Empires_II:Definitive_Edition-_Victors_and_Vanquished

He works for World’s Edge / Xbox Game Studios, as LinkedIn says.

So, we can see his content has been freely released for the community and now it’s sold after some (?) rework, but no, it has not been stolen from its creator…

how does this matter?
in the end I am still paying for something that’s already in the game

I’d prefer if he set up a patreon where we can donate to thank him for those maps

I somehow feel like some act as if the dev team took random custom campaigns and put them together to this DLC, but that could be just me.

Maybe they are looking for character-centric ones or those that they can slap a person’s name on.

So oddly “Oda 信長” seems like a full Sengoku map allowing you to use different clans including those did not interact much with Oda 信長

It will be the first time players will buy a DLC knowing its overall quality - top scenarios.

I didn’t catch the FE times but that expansion was originally a free mod, right?

Correct.it was a fan mod made official with initially stuff from the mod section in heaven games.

Yes, they are already taking advantage of the bad tricks of other developers (Blizzard/Ubosoft)…

Yes, if they give it a discount, it can perform like a good dlc…

That’s what they did…they grabbed all the custom campaigns (except the Kings of Cambodia and Kings of Africa) from the mod search engine and now they are selling them for 15 USD…don’t be surprised if they later do the same with the campaigns that were not ported from 2 HD to 2 DE…

Of course, The Forgotten was that… this would be The Forgotten 2 but without new civs or campaigns…

Except these aren’t random custom campaigns but all from Filthy that are now put together by Filthy himself for this pack. He also worked on some official campaigns in the past such as the Sicilian one.

If I buy this expansion, how much money will Filthy get? I bet less then 10%. Or maybe even no % if he has a set salary.

I much rather support him directly.

So no thank you, I’m not buying free workshop content with AI generated art and voice acting slapped on top of it to pay the higher ups at Microsoft who came up with this scammy scheme.

This is exactly the same complain I had. Philtydelphia is great but what’s the role of Microsoft in all of this? Why not just help the creator?
