Just asking if anybody tried.
KotM reused not European flora and fauna into the new maps, being the boar one of the worse examples.
Would look offscale or much cartoon?

The problem with the boar is it reuses the warthog model, which doesn’t look that much like an European boar.
Yes, I know, hence this post
If I’m not mistaken, the new Pig and Walrus models are ported from AoMR.
They should do the same with the Boar and Crocodile (the latter currently reuses the Alligator model in AoE3DE).
AoMR uses different shading as AoE3DE but shading is done in the render pipeline and ist not part of the assets. Though not sure if some shading is baked into the textures, but even then it’s probably not hard for them to get the raw textures again since they likely still have them laying around somewhere.
Almost all animals, and technically even units, could probably be directly ported over and looks decent. Trees might be more problematic because they are designed to look better at smaller scale so scaling them up to AoE3DE size trees might make them look out of place. But some trees would certainly work in AoE3DE.
One other thing they could very likely reuse is ground textures, besides the cliffs, since those work completely different. AoE3DE has almost new European textures so getting the Norse, Tundra and Greek textures from AoMR could help a lot with that. Though they might need to turn the saturation down a little bit on them.
It would be cool the get some of the units in the scenario editor too. AoE3DE already has fantasy elements in it’s original campaigns so why not give us some Myth units to play with?
A time travel cross over campaign would be really funny if you think about it. Seeing Musketeers fight Hoplites and Minotaurs would certainly be something.
The origin story of the Circle of Ossus and the Fountain of Youth. Involving the Atlanteans, the Aztecs, and the Greeks (I actually had fun creating a campaign like that in AoM when I was a kid. Without the Aztecs, of course—but now it’s possible!
).
Having an origin story for the Fountain of Youth in AoMR would be pretty cool. Also could Kronos travel though time? He is the god of time, right? It could help to promote both games to the players of the other game but it wouldn’t really be as marketable to new payers and of course not to people that prefer more historical DLC.
The other way around, the Guardian Lion cheat unit could be added as a myth unit to AoMR, at least for a cheat as well.
The unused Pirate Cyclops model in AoMR posted by Kronocracy kinda feels like a “time-traveller” who dons period-appropriate clothing, whatever the model’s actual purpose is…
Yeah I have seen that. Maybe we should me a dedicated thread to that topic.
Gararensis son travels though time with the help of Kronos and then allies with pirates in the Cariban. But Quetzalcoatl returns to the Aztecs, which are Mexicans now, to ask them go fight Kronos.
Or something like that.
Turkeys too for the natives civ’s livestock. There was a half finish goose in the beta so there’s already bird livestock coming.
