Early alpha test version of the partial-conversion mod project Empire of Sails, lots of work in progress, with naval tutorial mission for balance testing.

Sidenote: It’s possible all the custom strings for custom units are broken, I’m still trying to figure out how to make that working but hopefully we can see stats of units even when descriptions are broken. Will try to fix it asap.

  • Arian5201 for the Battleship and Elite Battleship model used for the First-Rate and Elite First-Rate.
  • Sheonator Pseak on Youtube for his Wellerman Hurdy-Gurdy version that he authorised me to use in the mod.
  • Age of Empires 2 DE / Age of Empires 3 DE for some graphics and sounds.

Some of the ennemies waves may be harder tha nothers, but it’s generally beause the selected ships to face them are not meant to face them.
I’ll need feedbacks on what seems op and what isn’t so I can adjust things abit. Some units are on purpose meant to destroy some other, for example Galleass destroys the Lanterna as it was an historical thing.

If anyone is facing this error: EXTERN(1): XS: Error 0354: failed to open file ‘XS_Empire_of_Sails.xs’. make sure to signal it here so I can try to find out why it’s happenning. Normally it shoul have been fixed with the update I just did by adding the core file into the modpack.

Alright, I found a way to bypass the localization issue but it will requiere abit of time to make so I’ll update tomorrow the unit descriptions and names.

If you’re facing crashes after installing the mod, make sure to tell me so I can workout to fix it. Tomorrow will eventually stabilize some parts of the problems.
