I can’t believe that they couldn’t build a persian civilization in one year, joke of the year
Isn’t that because at this time the persians was more or less included within the abbasyd and the ottomans and therefore make no sense that they add another civ with Persians only. Just my guess.
You’re hoping too much.
It has been clear that for the last two years, the one thing the developer team lacks is a sense of direction. They have no idea what to do with this game or how to proceed with it. This expansion has mostly revealed itself to be the bare minimum, with the addition of an four interns conjuring some mad unique civilizations yo by changing the health and damage of a couple of units.
Not holding out hope for this company or game anymore.
If you don’t even know how those variants are played.
There is a problem with the names that should be resolved.
You keep saying this, and yet you keep coming back to say this.
We know! It’s okay.
I don’t need to because I don’t care. If I wanted to play a game with copy pasted civilizations where the gameplay feels meaningful, I’d play AoE2. This is exactly what I mean by a lacking sense of direction and it is unfortunate that the developers at AoE4 cannot see the problem.
Not to mention that they seemingly are based off heroes. More hero units? Really?
They have no idea what they are doing with this game.
But we have no official information on how the variants civilizations will play out, and according to sources that are under NDA sounds like they are pretty different from their original civilizations.
Again this is pure assumptions by you with no real information to back it all up.
Assumption? My assumption is that it will play different. I do not care if it does.
They will skimp out on voice lines, music, art, things I care about. We have already seen how it looks like. HRE with black units–wooooow. Nevermind the fact that base HRE is an underbaked civilization where half of its unique units is the lonely Prelate.
This entire thing is a joke. They just have no idea what to do with this game. When I asked for more civilizations in those surveys, this was not it. And here is the thing. They know that.
Relic will keep screwing this playerbase over until the very end. Look forward to it.
I bought the DLC, but I agree very much, for me the constructions the music the voices, are very important, they are the first thing that made me start playing AOE4 and to open it, without them, I would not be here, so I agree, make it a pure and miserable content based only on Gameplay, it breaks my heart, obviously imagining that music and constructions know the same, with also many units already seen, the culture behind it is what makes a civilization deep to play.
I just can’t believe it.
For heaven’s sake, if they had only released Byzantines and Japanese + the campaign missions and maps for 15 euros, hardly anyone would have complained. Now they’re adding 4 more civs (with questionable names) with different gameplay, and some are complaining about the game’s direction.
It’s frustrating that some can’t be satisfied even with the biggest expansion in the franchise just because it’s AoE4.
I think there is freedom of expression, I never said I’m not happy, I just say that it distorts the basics of the game, it does not mean that I will not have fun playing it, it is wrong to idolize a brand without having an opinion, as if we were selling his soul, unfortunately of AOE4 is the only game the mechanics and everything else it has, This makes it beautiful, but not perfect. Those who love him want to reach perfection. The price then does not justify what they could do, they could also make it cost more’ anyway that I do not misunderstand, because’ I love the game. And I’ve been playing it for years if you can say so. Just referring to AOE4, If a person loves the game, the only thing he can do is notice the criticism in the official forum, if he did not like it, he would not do it, and he would switch to a new one.
You just described the definition of a new civilization, and this is according to trustworthy sources exactly how these variants will play out.
Let’s wait for the official information regarding how these variant civilizations is going to work and how much work has been done to make them feel different from their original civilizations. Constructive feedback is important but that cannot be done without all the information.
I don’t share these thoughts as in my eyes the future of AoE4 hasn’t looked better and brighter than it does today and I am pretty confident that the developers knows what they are doing. With an exception of the names for the new variant civilizations being questionable and should be changed I see mostly positively reactions to this expansion and for the price of just 15 euros it sounds like a great deal worth of new content.
This game isnt going anywhere any time soon, and I am tired of watching same old comments on how this game is dead when in fact it’s the total opposite and this expansion just proves that.
The fundamental concept of AoE4, since its launch, has been to blend elements from other AoE games and some other RTS titles.
What’s the problem with having civs that exhibit asymmetry like AoE3 and others that are more akin to AoE2? It won’t be the same as AoE2 because the gameplay is different.
If you offer almost any customer Byzantines + Japanese + 8 campaign missions + 10 maps + 2 biomes for 15 euros, hardly anyone would complain. You add 4 civs (with questionable names), and suddenly everything’s wrong.
It’s complaining just for the sake of complaining.
I don’t think it is, justifying something for the price, does not mean that it makes it taste, since it could cost more if you do not say what you think, as the developers will know, AOE4 has been based from the beginning on the uniqueness of civilization in almost everything, not only in units, and in some landmark. I think you are just trying to stop us from expressing what we think, justifying that it makes no sense to complain. I love the game and I bought the DLC, I can’t wait to play it, but they are a team of many people and they are a company that is under Microsoft, so it is normal to want more.
I have only expressed my frustration and disbelief at seeing certain complaints without having seen the content.
And it’s not entirely true about unique civilizations. There are civilizations in the game that are somewhat symmetrical (France, English, HRE) and more asymmetrical (China, Delhi, Mongols…).
Everyone can say what they want; i can say, personally,
and without seeing the civilization details, that it’s just complaining for the sake of it.
It is true, if you look at the game image, Jean the Arc got the bigger part on it, all other males who did so much more than her are smaller in size.
Also, the Mongol Khan is Female.
Which is not a mistake, but intentional.
I have notified the issue to the bugs etc but they didn’t fix it for about two years.
This would be super cool if you translated it. Or provided the text so I could copy it into an online translator
