Really? I remember that for x019 everyone in reddit was praising the graphics, building size, people were complaining only about brightness… I don’t remember any single person complaining about building size back in the day…now if you remember those can you point me to those post?

Funny, I was looking for the most discussed post about graphics that was even discussed in PC gamesn and it was closed and then 3 months later unlisted… good move devs

no need to make 3 separate post, you can edit post and quote. only a little more work and make it easier for everyone who reads your stuff.

truly play it i guess , 15 minutes of videos are just not enough proof.

@marcoracosta205 there is no a good mod that fix proportions. And proportions are bad because bad decisions maked in a hurry at the end of development.

So as a visual problem in Game, should be fixed officialy.

Again?

Proportion is a non-issue as far as I’m concerned. Stop focusing only on the height of a camel and focus on the strategy, the overall beauty (game architecture looks very awesome), cultural and civilization content.

Readability and playability >>> Proportion.
And readability in AoE4 is indeed far better than in AoE2 and 3.
You want a million 4x4 barracks, archery, stables?

The thing is that bad proportions in this game are not necessarily related to playability. if not why some buildings have correct proportions and others not. Why are buildings with acceptable proportions and others no?

Many proportions are bad because last changes in develeopment were made in a hurry and proportions werent adapted. Not for playability reasons.

If people like you dont care visuals, ok, we respect. Not everybody care visuals. But people who like graphics have the right to complain because is a bad point in game.

Why things like this?

Forgotten Empires is not taking over. They have been already involved pre release and are mainly responsible for the Art of War missions and (to my knowledge) additional balancing.

That’s a shame. Relic is not bad regarding making games, but they spent too much resources on COH 3 and AOE 4 need more love.

There’s no reason to assume that’s ever happening. Forgotten Empires has been working with Relic since the beginning.

If you’re personally fine, why don’t you be the one to install mods?

Like with how in AoE2, players who took themselves too serious had to install mods to decrease the size of trees. Most casuals who actually enjoy history would rather the game be immersive by default. The irony is that AoE4 is developed to appeal more to actual history fans with their boring documentary style campaigns, instead of just people who want to see shiny blades swinging.

Yet decisions like the current scaling is obviously catering to the wrong players.

personally, i believe the original building proportions looked good, as did the saturation levels, but with unit training times being copy paste of aoe2, but with no 1.5 to 1.7x faster ingame clock compared to irl clock, it takes an eternity to get anything on the field, they compensated with amount of production buildings, realized 3x3 tile buildings were too big to allow for it, and reduced their footprint, without adjusting their height, resulting in comedic issues with proportions
