In the last mission of Tamar’s campaign, the Hindustanis have the Central Asian architecture set for some reason.

I assume because they represent the Ghorids, who are a Persian peoples, but are represented by the Hindustanis in Prithviraj’s campaign. So likely kept as the Hindustanis for a bit of consistency and to make the level have more variety.

Yes, I agree that the Hindustani are the best option to represent the Ghorids, but they consciously decided they should have Central Asian buildings for that mission.
Note that I think it’s better actually, but it’s just that the devs did that on purpose.

Yeah, it’s weird for them to give a Persianate peoples the Central Asian set when showing their Western holdings…but deprive it from the Persians themselves.

Maybe they want to keep this a talking point till the next ultimate edition of aoe2 comes out to keep us engaged.

Cmon devs do this already. Its a travesty that there is a perfectly good looking Persian inspired architecture set not being used for Persians!!!

The display of free spots in the game overview screen is now completely filled with 45 civs. The last 2 free spots were filled with the recently released civs like Armenians and Georgians of the The Mountain Royals DLC.

I hope therefore, that a next DLC will finally be a revised architecture DLC.

FYI: the civ selection screen already looked like this with the Anniversary Update from 2020 when we had “only” 35 civs :slight_smile:

The number of free slots (or other things like the number of civilisations using one architecture set) is really really not important at all.
All the other benefits (and drawbacks) of adding new civilisations to the game are way more important then a few buttons looking nice.

Would you want your employer tell you that you won’t get more money despire inflation just because your current wage is such a nice looking number?

Apparently you did not understand my core message about this, the forum mod has just dealt with the matter. I just want new architecture sets soon, that is all. After all these years in which nothing was going in this direction, now it is the time for it.

Changing the architecture set of a civilisation is literally just changing 1 number.
Nothing that would need them to make a new DLC.
It could be part of any patch.

Especially unlikely that they will make another DLC focusing on Persia right after making one.

If you were thinking about new architecture sets, I don’t think they should make us pay for visuals.
It would also be strange if there was a DLC that adds a new architecture set for an old civilisation, does that mean you only see that when you bought the DLC?

Of course yes, new architecture sets can be delivered with using new patches, which I hope that would be free.

But I would also be willing to pay 5 to 15 dollars per unit for campaigns or architecturre set DLCs at any time. I think 5 dollars would be good a good choice.

The discussion here is not about adding a new set but about correcting the Persian set.
Because the correct set already exists.

The discussions recently have been generally about architecture sets and not just a change for the Persian architecture.

Totally disagree, the Central Asian set suits much better to the Persians. Why this is so has been written enough.

I think it’s high time to make a change to the “Select Civilization” list. My idea would be to segregate civilizations into regions - first, a world map would be displayed, and by clicking on a specific region, its map with civs icons and the area it covers would be displayed.

This is what the civs division by region could look like:

  1. Far East - Chinese, Japanese and Koreans
  2. Southeast Asia - Burmese, Khmer, Malay and Vietnamese
  3. India - Bengalis, Dravidians, Gurjaras and Hindustanis
  4. Central Asia - Armenians, Georgians and Persians
  5. Near East - Saracens and Turks
  6. Eurasian Steppe - Cumans, Huns, Mongols and Tatars
  7. Eastern Europe - Bulgarians, Byzantines, Lithuanians, Magyars, Poles and Slavs
  8. Western Europe - Burgundians and Franks
  9. Central Europe - Bohemians and Teutons
  10. Northern Europe - Britons, Celts, Goths and Vikings
  11. Southern Europe - Italians, Portuguese, Romans, Sicilians and Spanish
  12. Sahara - Berbers
  13. Sahel - Ethiopians and Malians

  15. America - Aztecs, Incas and Mayans

Thank you for this input. I thought of the same thing myself, when I put the civilization selection picture in this topic. The current show of all civilizations is simply far too monotonous, we should split them, some kind of shape as you suggested.
