According Beasty, AOE4 DLC Will be massive

Starting from minute 7:00, Beasty said he knows something about the upcoming DLC and It Will be massive in comparison tò the Sultan’s Ascend and It will sold much more that the previous One DLC.

So, what It could be interesting to know if what Beasty means with “Massive”.

Sultan’s Ascend have been released with a new campaign, two new civilizations and 4 variants, and some graphic improvements.

Using “Massive” in comparison to the last DLC Is a strong statement so i could think to:

  1. two campaigns on a new Dynamic Map (the same Dynamic Campaign seen into Company of Heroes 3);

  2. variants Civilizations;

  3. massive updates and some new improvements about UI;

  4. massive Graphic updates, especially about new 4k textures, new wheater effects, new animations and physics effects. These are the same improvements which have been asked in the last AOE survey.

Hoping for new game modes myself. Something along the lines of co-op campaigns. Longest season to date, and a DLC release outside of their standard schedule. At least 2 civs, hopefully 4 more variants.

I hope we get information soon!

I hope they add more civs than Variant “civs”.

I hope they wont add Jean de Arc or OoTD like variant civs into the game

If the devs truly add these features and improvements, the game will be so successful.
And I believe this content below:

I hope they add the ability to get back in a multiplayer game if you drop from the game for some reason. I play with a buddy and it sucks if one of us has a PC issue and the other person is stranded.

I think is more about content than QoL stuff, improvements to UX and Engine updates
So, more civs, more variants, and more campaigns
Maybe 2 campaigns, 6 variants, and 3 civs!

I really want some more variant civs, an english variant would be cool.

So far I don’t think much has been said. Saying it’s massive could be many things.

Anyway, I think I’m going to try hard to free myself from my recent concepts.

The only thing I would ask for, Yes or Yes, is that if there is Spain, that in the IV age there are units to represent the Spanish Tercios (Pica seca, Rodeleros, Arcabuceros de Tercio).

And that they didn´t repeat the problems with Japanese, who until now:

    1. Tanegashima Matchlook when?.- We are still waiting for an Ashigaru Muskeeter or Ashigaru Gunner to replace the Ashigaru Handcannoner (whatever name would be better).
    1. Chinese Walls.- We are still waiting for a unique wall, the same as the base of the Japanese “Castle”.
    1. Mounted Samurai Attack Animation Mistake.- They attack with the blunt part of their swords, instead of the sharp one.

Or make another JoanDArc as a Horse Handcannoner in the Imperial Age (IV), I think that was the most criticizable part of the civ.

If you make Timurids as a Mongol variant, remember that they stopped being nomads (that could be one of their characteristics), they used Persian-Timurid Architecture for their Buildings, and that Timur was Lame so don’t make him run as an infantry hero; and that he is already a King in the Dominion game mode (that he runs slowly is actually and curiously well represented).

I reaaaaaally hope it´s more about QoL improvements than civs, please forgive me but THIS game could be massive if they really pay atention what SC2 has done in terms of UI, UX, game/replay observer, etc., etc.
Of course there will be new exciting civs, and i will love them, but AOE4 must finally unleash all its potential polishing everything that makes easier all the game experience OUTSIDE the battle itself. I´m crossing fingers.

Since it’s a paid DLC, it made sense that we would have new civs and campaigns.

QoL, UI, textures and graphics improvements should be free, although i would pay for them too, but it would look weird if the base game player had different graphics and QoL than the one who paid for the DLC.

not just SC2, aoe2 DE is another game that understood UI/UX properly

here’s how i read beasty’s word massive (was also said for the sultans ascent in case yall forgot about that), 1 new standard campaign in similar style to sultans ascent, 2 new actual civs, a for now unknown number of variants, i suspect 4 of them again, thats it, not saying they won’t add anything else on top, but i have my doubts till i’m proven wrong

Co-op would be a good step, since most of the game is multiplayer already (but competitive). I guess zoomers call it PVE but I’m still trying to remember what the E is for.

But he said the the upcoming DLC will be massive in comparison tò Sultan’s Ascend. So i could Expect more.

Absolutely. In fact i´m coming from AOE2.

The wall set that the Chinese and Japanese both have is supposed to represent the East Asian wall set. So, there’s no need for the Japanese to have a unique wall. I do expect this wall set to also be given to the Koreans when they get added to the game.

if it is said that it will be much bigger…
I would expect to have between 3 or 4 unique civilizations and 5 or 6 variants!!!

I would also like to see new graphics or at least the addition of many unique wildlife to the biomes.

Developers could improve the Essence Engine and update the game with 4k models for all units and models.

But i think It Will not happen, unfortunately.

I’d prefer graphical enhancements that would benefit most players, before the devs look at something you need a monster rig to appreciate
