As much as i would love a new patch; devs are focused on the new dlc now. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty with “return of rome” (the expansion deserved a more creative name?)

No, I’m saying that probably the balance update will be available until the end of the month due the tournament and because they are probably testing something behind the scenes atm. I personally don’t think the Rome DLC is ready, but I suspect they are already doing some testing with the vietnamese playerbase.

Yep, probably the DLC won’t be ready this year.

Can you give the source here?

I am not sure if I can post the image here. But if you put “Roman castle AoE2” into google images, the first one that comes up is the castle in question. No other pictures of it have emerged.

Looking at the wording I’m not sure of it is about new civs in the same AoE2 pool. Although this might mean that they will include new content for either of both games.

Look at my previous post (1 above yours) and google that, see what you think.

Searched it, and it looks too small to be an AOE2 Castle IMO, maybe AOE1 will get castles now?

Look at the Centurion’s below it. It’s the right size, just a little shorter than some of the others.

The AoE1 civs are all using the old tech tree. So there is no need for them to have castles.

Also the design does not match the Roman architecture in AoE1. But it does match the Mediterranean architecture in AoE2.

Interesting, I scaled the photo in the Y axis and it does look natural like a castle. And it does match the Mediterranean architecture style as you said. Let’s see what we get, hoping to get some official news soon.

Fingers crossed we get answers soon.

What this seems to be so far is in addition to all the AoE1 civs in their own separate game mode, but also the Romans will be added to the main game as a bit of a “here is something in this for those that care more about AoE2”. And possibly Romans will be a cheap DLC later.

The person that posted the picture sounded like there was only data for 1 new castle. So it seems it will just be the Romans, as they are the namesake.

Did some digging and it looks a lot like Arbeia Roman Fort. Kinda hyped if it’s indeed for AOE2 but it could be a castle type building for new AOE1 scenario/campaign.

Oh wow that is a very close match.

I dunno about it being for scenarios. Otherwise it wouldn’t be filed under castles. Also scenario stuff tends to be more “Wonder-esque” than castle.

The 3rd anniversary of DE was two days ago and we still got nothing, that’s sad.

Hope that devs give us anniversary update with new cool stuff like they have made for Aoe3 and Aoe4.

Honestly I was waiting for a big update with one free civ (Maybe Serbs? All Hail Lord Daut!). Cause they did two free civs for Aoe4 and completely rework Ottomans for Aoe3 with ton of new units.

Also a cosmetic Dlc with regional skins is still a desired by many players.

They lied to us when saying 2022 would be a busy year for aoe2.

we got a free civ overhaul in the form of Indians->Hindustanis
we got a paid DLC: Dynasties of India
we got balance updates and in-game voting
we got (at least) 8 S-tier and 12 A-tier tournaments

what else do you want?

They are busy but not us. Haha

No one cares about tournaments

As opposed to 2 DLC-s last year

Yes, 1 big balance change and 1 small as opposed to many balance changes in previous years.

What??? Just because you don’t care about tournaments doesn’t mean that no one cares. Red Bull had peak viewer numbers of almost 80k, that’s still an awesome number for AoE2
