Any hints for "Porto" AOE2 DLC?

We already have one that start with Lords. I think 2 with same initials won’t happen. Others sound cool though.

Very generic name honestly.

Not sure why people keep saying that Saracens are an Umbrella Civ for Muslim peoples given that they were released alongside Persians and Turks (both Muslim during the Middle Ages), and are very consistently Arab-based in terms of inspiration (Units speak Arabic, Madrasah (UT name) is the Arabic word for school, The wonder is an Abassid Caliphate mosque, Mamelukes were invented by and predominately used by Arab states, etc). The ingame History Section even says this: The name Saracen applied originally to nomadic desert peoples from the area stretching from modern Syria to Saudi Arabia. In broader usage the name applied to all Arabs of the Middle Ages.

It’s not. No more than “Age of Kings” for example.

“The Chinese Dynasties” for a dlc based on China and the various people who competed for the Mandate of Heaven (Jurchens, Tanguts, Khitans, etc.)
“Sailors of the East Coast” for a dlc based on Eastern Africa with seafaring factions (Somalis and Swahilis) and possible neighbors (Nubians or Shonas)
“Rooftop of the World” for an unlikely dlc about the Himalayas (Tibetans and Nepali… as I said, highly unlikely)
“The Silk Road” for a dlc based on Central Asia and the Middle East (Afghans and Khitans maybe?)
“Kings on the Mountains” for a dlc about the Caucasus (Georgians and Armenians, possibly Khazars or another faction from the Pontic Steppe)

Queens of the xxxxx for a possible female lead factions like georgia.

I think that any Caucasus DLC should be called “Pride of the Caucasus.”

I was thinking the same for a Balkans.

Well yeah. But The Conquerors is still referred to as AOC (Age of Conquerors).
And sometimes later are also called as AOF, AOA and AOR.

I’ve thought a lot about Indonesia and India for this expansion but that’s only an intuition of mine.

Saracens was a generic term for some variety of Easterners

Well… the Persians were Zoroastrian/Christian/minority off Jews and the Turks were…Turkick that invaded from the steppes to the north east. Both these civs + the Berbes (Tribal religions/Christians) were only converted to Islam after they were conquered by the rapid expansions of the Arabs/Saracens.

They share the same architecture and such because their cities were located in simmilar Biomes, thus they all used sand stone for their architecture. This is why I want an entirely unique architecture set for the Byzantines, because their Empire streached from Italy and Greace (30% of their empire), all the way into Anatolia,The Levant, the Sini dessert and across north Africa (+/- 70% of their empire). Thus they should have a Medi (Dark+Fudal), ME (Castle+Imp) Hybrid set but preferebly a set of their own that reflects the building architectures that was used in the majority of their empire.

Or this mod shown in this post will be perfect: Uniqe unit skins for each civ Please + Cucasus DLC

See this thread for examples of Byzantine buildings: Cacasus DLC + Byzantine Architecture.

How about ‘‘Monarchs of the Mountains.’’ for the Caucasus DLC?

Africa for me. I know that codenames aren’t hints but portugal (there is Oporto city) had a exploration and commerce empire on África. Also my personal wish is add first to the game Shona, Swahillis, Kongolese and another ??? civ from África.

Since the Portuguese campaign was in Africa & India & as well as the Portuguese being in the Bayinnaung campaign, there could be 3 possibilities if they’re not in Europe:

Bantu/Swahili coast
Indian DLC
South East Asia (Thai/Lao)

The southern Arabs could be interesting since they have a decent ammount of pre Islamic history as well as plenty of medieval kingdoms, but wouldnt they also be a camel, navy, monk and trade based civ?

Tbh the Moors have from what I understood a very unique mix of cultures

the only way i can accept a caucasus DLC is if it’s monarch themed like that

most of the past expansion/DLC names have been masculine, would be rly cool if there was a female-themed version as well! i know from civ 6 that georgia had tamar, what about other caucasus faction leaders?

You only will accept if it is feminist advocating?

They did already have the Women of History event. I think they removed a reference to Tamar on one of their pages for that event on the website too…
