I suggested that about a year ago. Maybe before that. Can’t remember.
Siege Elephant, Brahmin (Monk Elephant) and some type of Zealot Elephant (not convertable Elephant UU).
From the top of my head.
I heard that the new Spearman is from Delhi. It is more or less confrimed we will get Delhi (Ghorids) and Rajputs so it is illogical to have Indians now.
People have been asking for this for a while and I never got it because the “Italians” civ ingame is essentially North Italy and pretty close what a Venetian civ should be.
we do need to start pushing for more African and American civs
I think a lot of people would have different opinions on this ![]()
Whatever happens in future, I’m glad the game is getting supported and I am glad to be getting new civs and campaigns.
Based on what ? I would like to learn more for sure
Which would be?..
Based on the colouring scheme (light blue and red), I see two civs. Not three.
The Spearman has Delhi leather armor and helmet. The Cavalry looks Rajput/Gurjara.
You have a picture of that Delhi armour?
One major thing, is that they should not create an umbrella “Dravidians” civ to cover Tamils and Kannadigaru together, because these peoples have completely different military histories and cultures and also don’t speak the same language, their languages just belong to the same language family and are not mutually intelligible (like Spanish and Italians).
Another thing, is that the civ design, including the focus of the civ and the unique units, should accurately reflect the real life historical military focus of the empires the civs are representing. Eg:
- Bengalis should focus on Elephants, Trade, Gunpowder, Monks
- Tamils should focus on Infantry, Navy, Elephants
- Kannadigas should focus on Defence, Siege, Infantry
- Rajputs should focus on Cavalry
- Odias should focus on Cavalry, Cavalry Archers
- Ghurids/Delhi/Mughals should focus on Elephants, Gunpowder, Camels, Cavalry
Edit: Many of these civs were good with other stuff as well (like foot archery), these are just some examples of potential focuses
It’d be wrong if they gave Bengalis good cavalry, for example. Their horses were actually so bad they had to import horses from elsewhere. Another thing that would be bad would be giving all Indian civs camels, as only north-west Indian states actually used camels at all, and they used horses mainly. I have a lot of faith in the devs in this respect though, considering the choices they made with Bohemians for example.
Also, obviously the civs need to be balanced and unique.
This is what my friend told me. I am not an expert in Indian history.
I remember reading a post someone said “nobody cares about those indians civs”. well looks like dev certainly cares. in the end nobody cared about what that person thinks for sure.
this is very hype, cant wait
I could still see it just being a scenario editor unit to enhance design space for campaigns just like eastern swordsman

Odias and Bengals had strong Navy. I heard that Rajputs and the Delhi Sultanate had very powerful Cavalry Archers.
I would also add Assamese, Nepalese, Sinhalese and Marathas to the game.
I do hope that they’re going to rework the South Asian Sails and South Asian King model.
Maybe we’ll get even a unique South Asian trade cart model, though the unique sails and King modell aforementioned things should really be a priority, considering it is the only set without unique sails and a Sultan would be kinda awkward to keep for all South Asian civs.
I think his name is CloudAct.
Man, your whole post is kind of pathetic.
Lol I visit the forums today just to see what’s up and surprise, surprise: it really was an indian dlc ![]()
I’m so hyped for this.
Do you have the source please?
