An interesting thing to note is that the devs do actually seem to be listening to the communities’ civ suggestions.
People (not me) were asking for Normans/Crusaders/Dutch for ages and then we got Sicilians and Burgundians, with the former basically being Normans Crusaders and the latter incorporating Flemish elements.
People asked for Poles with Winged Hussars for ages and they got added (which is cool tbh).

You also said that Dawn of the Dukes is a better expansion than African Royals which just seems weird if you compare the content African Royals included compared to Dawn of the Dukes in terms of new units, new maps and new buildings:
Compare that to “The African Royals” with completely new graphic assets and tons of new maps, animals and Natives. DotD seems like a complete cashgrab in comparison.
African Royals doesn’t get full campaigns like DotD does, just 3 historical battles.
The amount of time I spent playing just the campaigns of Lords of the West is longer than I would get for paying for most full priced games.
It’s 10 bucks.
I spent more than that on my lunch today.
I in no way feel as if LotW was a “cashgrab”…
