Thank you, someone seems to be enlightended. On my Wingles hussar post the samwidge said exactly the same things as he is repeating now and there as here I already informed the thread that the Western European Term ‘‘Paladin’’ means the ‘‘perfect knight’’. One whom is pious, noble, humble and dedicated to God and the servace of others, it is and never was a military term.
The word ‘‘knight’’ in its self is also a European military station of nobility which has no connection to other non European Civs. Hense if you can just squint and try to see a bigger picture , you will find that the ‘‘Knight’’ line in AoE is just a HEAVY CAVALRY line, a trem used in all other civs irrespective of what they called in in their language.
Thus for me Knight ,cavalier and Paladin is actually anything representing heavy cavalry, such as Heavy cav, Officre heavy cav and Cataphract or what have you.
The problem with the Hussar is exatly the problem we have with all the other units , the problem is NOT THE NAME, it is that Civs set in Asia, Africa,ME and Americas are to this day forced to use skins of 14th century European soldiers. And THAT is what we would like to see changed.
I already administer this change myself by means of my ‘‘Historical Accuracy’’ mod but since I am forced to spend weeks reallocating each sprite to every correct civ unit after any major update, the aim is to eventually have by defualt region specific units in game, such as African Soldiers for Africa, Asia,ME, the Americas and more (Most units wielding a sword, spear and bow in aoe3 will be perfect for this).
