That’s interesting since I’ve had so many contradictory discussions with the forum’s regulars, even the mods, even on this very thread.
But let’s suppose that allegation is true. What do you mean when you say things can be manipulated? Are you saying they’re gonna add new animals because of our bet?
Wise investors never participate in places where things can be manipulated.

Subotai, if you carefully read this thread, you’d notice how Ardei and I partly disagree with each other but are still able to hold a civil discussion. This is far from being “manipulated”.
Also, the Season updates in AoE 4 brought a couple of serious changes and improvements to the game, such as the one for S9 reworking Siege and the way projectiles travel or S6 (or 5? I can’t remember) doing adjustments the shaders to improve the overall visuals of the game.

Every season patch has brought major changes to a civ, sometimes to every civ. It’s highly likely we’ll be getting new units for HRE in the next patch, and that’s just what’s been datamined.
AoE 2 team released their patch notes early because they are making one of the biggest updates in the history of the Definitive Edition.
I have no idea why people feel threatened by another game in the same series doing well. Can’t people just be happy that AoE 2 is doing something awesome?

To add to Floos’ point, ArdeiGras and I regularly disagree with each other. Strongly, even! I recommend not inventing conspiracies just because people are pointing out issues with your claims.

I particularly like AoE 2 and AoE 4, but to be fair, AoE 4 has changes in the game every year, at least there are 3 changes every year, in the case of AoE 2, it is much more difficult to have significant changes, in fact the civilizations do not change the gameplay much, it is something that bothers AoE 2 players, just look at AoE 4, but a DLC with changes not only in the gameplay, but with two very different variant civilizations and in addition to the update of the next season and I don’t even need to say that we will have another DLC coming out at the end of the year, amazing. I realize that what really matters is to have fun and play, there is no point in coming here just to complain and the impression I have is that those who only complain should not play the game, because it makes no sense at all!! Play and have fun, that’s what a game is for, it is unnecessary stress, I see interesting criticisms for example, the lack of new gaia animals, bug reports, lack of cooperative missions and much more, focus on constructive criticism!!!

AoE 2 is a classic and will always be recognized as the best game in the franchise, it’s a lot of nostalgia and people like the gameplay and the old format of the game, I’m one of them, I’ve known this game since 2003 or 2004, as far as I remember, it’s hard not to like this game, but I say that AoE 4 is really different and brings a new interesting format especially for new players!! AoE 4 is certainly a better and more fun game, and much deeper and more complex with much more strategy to do, but AoE 2 for old players is a classic!!
Well, actually no.
Not a problem at all.
You can play the civ whatever you like to do so.
You see, for example, In AoE IV English is by design a defensive civ but it also can played for booming and rushing strats!
Only 1 civ, in other games all civs have a broader roster of unique units,
buldings, mechanics and so. Even more with every patch devs brings something new to the game that shanges the playstyle and the meta a lot. AoE in its counterpart is plain, boring and pretty much the same!
the game premise form start was a disaster from launch point and now we have a update state to recently undertand why aoe 4 is such a disaster as it is
Ah yes, I remember a new unit called Khan’s Hunter.
Road to Silver was right, it was a copy and paste unit without any difference. It was stolen from Mongols to Byzantine mercenary. Then from Byzantine mercenary back to the Mongols and was renamed as Khan’s Hunter LOL
That is very low value, effort unit and will not be counted as new content.
Look at AOEIIDE, completely new units, new animations and so on.
That is how they must do it in AOEIV and it must be better…
Khan’s hunter was a byzantine mercenary? What?

Yes, they have the same skin.
Mangudais can be trained from trade posts as Byzantines.
Kheshigs also have that purple cloth.
They look similar to mangudai, but have a leather chest armor and burlap saddle. They look similar because it is functionally the same unit with a bonus to range on ranged attacks.
Malian have 3 new units, 2 of them are nearly identical to the units they pair with. Ghulam look nearly identical to their previous MAA counterparts. Ghazi raiders are Delhi horsemen with maces.
That’s how this works!

Ah found Road to Silver’s image.
Tell me which one is Mangudai and which one is Khan’s Hunter.
If you cant, and think they are different in terms of skin and not same you are wrong!
Rear middle, that’s where they go in formation.
I have no problem picking them out in a live game. It’s never been an issue for me.

Completely wrong! They are exactly the same!
LOL, but you cannot say they have different skins.
It is just the cloth color is different but same model lol
Also, who is Road to Silver? I don’t see anyone in this thread by that name.

Only the color is different. I am sorry, but this is the truth mate
