@Franknezu11 , please respond to this , then we can continue with the argument
Thereās a difference between constructive criticisms of the game and flat-out bashing it. The latter is unhelpful. While thereās only so much the devs can do to improve AoEIV the hope is that Worldās Edge is taking notes for the next iteration.
There is enough room in the AoE series for each and every one of us to enjoy their favored game. Itās been like this forever and AoEIV is just another added piece.
Whilst there may be āenough roomā a big dissappointment is really that it didnāt bring the fanbases together and also had a huge part in stopping momentum for AoE2 at the time, which was an incredible space.
divide that for 23 years
Red button #1: AOE2 is 23 years old so itās outdated
Red button #2: AOE2 has 23 years of development so it has more functions and contents
Red button #3: AOE2DE is released in 2019 (as new as AOE4) so you should not say AOE4 cannot beat a 23 year old game
Red button #4: Player count does not matter at all
Red button #5: The title of this post
You are always good for a chuckle.
I would like aoe 3 and aoe online to be higherā¦they are very good gamesā¦
Yes, an aoe 5 but better made than it is aoe 4⦠I thought aoe 4 would be similar to ancestors legacy, but with an even bigger budgetā¦
You can play aoe 3 DE without problemsā¦you have the tutorial to learn the basics and the art of war to learn the most advancedā¦the popularity of something is subjectiveā¦
Such a shame that aoe2 cost 20 euro and had been worked for more than 20 years lol .

AOE2DE is released in 2019 (as new as AOE4) so you should not say AOE4 cannot beat a 23 year old game
Aoe2 has been worked for 23 years LMAO , and also , itās a remaster , they did only changed so little things compared from the aoe2 HD on launch . how the fuck do you expect that a 5 months game can beat a game that has been worked literally 23 years bruh
From my point of view, I think AoE4 can only go up, weāll see what numbers it reaches with all the changes that are coming.

Red button #2: AOE2 has 23 years of development so it has more functions and contents
There is already a button for you
Lmao right
20 characters
A remaster that changed little things but has also been developed for 23 years lmaoooooooo (does that buff the argument? Iāll try)
People seem to forget that all of the aoe de games were pretty terrible at launch.
AoE2 DE took some time to get good with a big number of players still opting to play the HD edition of the game instead of DE.
AoE3 DE launch was also a disaster. I remember the list of issues was huge. There were several performance issues, big chunks of units would get stuck in buildings, specially on trading posts, attack move was bugged for months, you couldnt scroll down on the lobby when searching for game, there wasnt even an ingame invite system in place so you could invite your friends, and you couldnāt send messages to them either. Still the devs managed to do an amazing work on the game during this time. The game has grown a lot, it looks gorgeous, and it has improved massively since them and now it looks like a totally different game than what it was a year ago.
AoE4 simply faces the same issues all previous aoe games have faced, now with the spring patch is when we will start to get a more complete game and have a good picture of what expect for the future. The devs are listening, taking feedback and communicating.
I dont know what is worse , reading badly or laughing about it and reading it badly. Dude i said that Aoe2 has been developed since 1999 and with Aoe2DE they just tooked Aoe2HD and its expansions and made a single game called Aoe2 DE
Yeah , the game (Aoe2DE) it self is not 23 years old
But Aoe2 indeed it is 23 years old dude , dont try to change my argument , you already know this
Aoe2 has been worked 23 years .
Aoe2DE is just the final work of those 23 years .
Dont be blind.
First of all it is not 23 years. There was no development for AOE2 between 2001 and 2013.
Secondly it is obvious that gaming industry had not developed in these 23 years. No previous examples to follow. No lessons learned. No experience accumulated. The starting condition and tools for AOE4 development were exactly the same as those of AOE2 back in 1999. They have to re-consider, re-design and re-implement everything from scratch. Just like a car manufacturer obviously needs to invent combustion engines and radios and air conditioners all by himself in the 21st century, so itās okay if a 2020s car has no air conditioner because another model in 2000s has 20 years to add one. Poor relic. AOE4 clearly has not benefited from the developments of the gaming industry in general in these 23 years because there is obviously no development at all.
Lmaoooooooooooo (+500% strength)
