We need to talk about the Criteria made by the devs to Nerf and Buff things in this game. The criteria is so bad. They dont even play the Game. They only watch youtube videos and hear suggestions of some Biased Players with bad inttencions and they Fool us with a Bad patch. Why Nerfing the 4 least Played civs and Leaving Spain, Brits, Otto and France Untouched its because of some community who dont like the New civs on the Game and the Natives ones? Whats the criteria to Buff Bourbon France natives. Whats the Criteria to Over Nerf Ethiopia, USA (The Capitol, Viriginia Plan and the Carabine Cavalary nerf AGAIN) , Lakota, Sweden, Haudenosaunee (Iroquois)? Whats the Criteria to Over Buff Inca Again who has some of the most Cancer Turtle Play in the game. The criteria to nerf Revolts only used a Few times?

I think this patch balance is pretty good. Aztecs and lakota rush is quite op in 1v1 so good nerf. Inca is one of the worst civs, because it is over nerfed before. USA has a lot of OP or overvalued cards and has a very fast shipment curve, so good nerf. Otto is op but the nerf is not enough at least in the right direction. Spain France maybe they forgot about it. Then revolt is a niche use it is not designed to be used every game. It is a non standard situational play. So it cannot be too good and biable
I don’t think they have any criteria on how to balance the game, it’s much more likely that they make changes based on what “convince[s]” them from the comments on the many forums they have, even if it’s an absurd decision. That, or they just listen to the loudest group.
I would love to see the game balance fixed, but as long as the community remains passive about the company’s mistreatment, we will hardly see a change in this paradigm. (because they don’t care about AOE3 and its community )
All of the nerfs except for the Malta one was justified. If they’re going to make Malta lose 70 XP to explorer deaths they need to offset that with the many other minor buffs they’ve needed for so long.
Russia was interesting but didn’t really move the needle.
Ottos weren’t nerfed enough - only targeting their Age IV was highly tone deaf.
If this was a youtuber patch ports and inca would have been deleeted from the game and gmt given an extra wagon
Almost every single nerf or buff was in response to long standing requests. Most people arent mad about the balance in the patch but that it doesnt really change or incentives much new ensuring the next 9 months likely the same. And lack if follow through (qol)

Yeah, yeah streamers aint the only ones stanning otto. Any sub 2k elo you got at times 15-20% chance to roll otto and boy, from 1k to 2k elo its the same. Painful. Builds.
Like the 12>14 jan change is a signal that otto is here to stay says my tinfoil hat. Forever it feels.
Honestly the buffs were really welcome, Jungle bows poison damage is still very much bugged in multiplayer so having poison be slightly more effective vs cav was at least something, please devs fix damage over time
And unnerfing our houses wood production really helps when they keep raising the wood cost for our units too

Aztec and Lakota rush is normal. Thats literally all they have. It didnt need a nerf and I hate personally hate playing them becuase they are hard. But I still don’t this they needed a nerf. But I completely agree with USA
Their RUSH is OP but instead of nerfing it they keep nerfing their lategame and units nonstop. All their roster but A SINGLE UNIT is countered by skirmishers kind of units.

Coyote Runner: Heavy Shock Infantry
Otontin: Unstoppable Superpowerfull top skirmisher with incredible 8 damage with no upgrade for higher bonus, just an incredible 20% (of 8) in age IV.
Bruh, the civ took 23 nerfs, a single buff in the middle of 23 nerfs and over buff now.
Every patch the Inca took some nerf, every… from the number of vills, economy and units.
The civ before the patch on the 24th was completely dead, and it is still weak.
